I came late at night just looking for a place to eat and saw this place, decided to at least try it once. Customer service was excellent. The cashier who also served our food was friendly and patient with our questions. We ended up getting some of her recommendations. I personally did not really like the seasoning on the food. Although it was my first time trying Dominican food. On the other hand my husband loved it, so I would call it a win-win!

Mofongo was amazing. It had pork and shrimp- I highly recommend, however the Tripe soup (mondongo) needed more seasoning. But this is probably the best Spanish food on Stamford.

Everyone please be careful ordering food from Mama’s kitchen restaurant. I order a lot of food from Mama’s kitchen since is the only Spanish restaurant I know around the area. Until yesterday that it was my last time ordering. I went into the restaurant to order some empanadas. I got the ground beef empanada. The empanadas tasted weird it was not fresh. Then I realized the meat of the ground beef empanada tasted bitter. Meaning the ground beef was no good. After eating the ground beef empanada. I started having stomach cramps diarrhea and also vomiting. I feel horrible after eating the ground beef from Mama’s kitchen empanadas . The food is obviously not fresh. Please be careful with the food from this restaurant. I learned my lesson and I will not be ordering anything else. I highly recommend to stay away. Is obviously they don’t care if they selling food that is no good for customers to eat.

Mama’s serves great food at great prices. Hot table lunches are big and loaded with flavor. Recommend the tender oxtail and the pernil (roast pork) both over rice. And real empanadas too.
