I am from the Bronx so I think I know something about real pizza. My family cane here about 7 years ago and ever since then we have been searching for real New York pizza. Well we found it at Mama Mia’s. We have been going weekly for about 2 months now. We have pizza every Friday. We have eaten in and have taken out. Always really good food. A few weeks ago we ordered a Sicilian pizza. Thinking it would be the same NC style. A big square pizza which is NOT Sicilian pizza. Well we were surprised. This took me back to THE bronx where I was a kid watching Star Tack. The sauce wasn’t just regular pizza sauce. It was different just Sicilian pizza is supposed to be. But the main reason I am writing this is to speak to the OWNER: Please don’t change! Last Friday we got Sicilian again and it was to small, the sauce was not the same. It was like all the other places in NC. The dough was just regular pizza dough. I k own you can do it. You made it for me before. Please make it right and I will be a customer foe life. Thanks PS: don’t know what these bad reviews are about. I have always had a good experience except for the Sicilian issue which I know they will fix.

Decided to try a new place for dinner. Big mistake!! The rolls were the only thing here that were good. We ordered the fried zucchini appetizer. The waiter brought it out and it was burnt. That was obvious but he left it at the table. We tried to eat it but that wasn’t possible. When we called him over he asked if it was burnt. Duh!! He had another order made which was cooked fine. Nothing about it tasted good. We love fried zucchini. Avoid this. I ordered a Caesar salad with no cheese. It was brought out with cheese. Clearly they are all made ahead of time. We both had pasta dishes. The bolognese was like unseasoned hamburger meat with some marinara sauce. No flavor. They must not believe in spices here. Not even salt and pepper. The other pasta dish had chicken in it and the chicken was low quality with a lot of connective tissue. Finally, we went to pay our bill and tried to use a gift card. Even though this location and the Holly Springs location share one website they would not let us use the gift card from holly springs here. They are owned by different family members. A daughter and a father. Must not get along. Overall a VERY POOR EXPERIENCE. NO CONCEPT OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.

From the minute I walked into the door, the family atmosphere hit me like a wave. The people that manage this place of the highest quality and the food matches it. I had a stromboli which I usually avoid because they turn out gummy and nasty. This place was a complete opposite. The bite of fresh garlic in the crust. The salty nuttiness of the mozzarella, the quality of the pepperoni and thin sliced sausage. Everything deserves the chefs kiss. This restaurant is an hour and a half away from my home in Greenville but well worth it several times over. I will definitely be back.

The bread alone gives this place 5 stars! It’s cute restaurant with very attentive and wonderful service. It can accommodate large parties and small groups. The provide delicious bread rolls and dipping oil to start. We also tried the garlic knots and were pleasantly surprised at the quantity we got for the money. The portions are generous! We also tried the “Pasta Your Way” where you pick which noodle and sauce you want. We got the spaghetti bolognese and linguini carbonara. Will definitely be back!

We tried it for the first time. We started with a slice of cheese pizza. Some of the best pizzas I have tried in the south. I went with chicken parmesan and it was really good. The sauce is lite sauce with sweet tones in it. Was good sauce, though. My wife tried the vodka pasta. I don’t usually like the vodka sauce, but there was super tasty. The salad was good little simple, but the Italian dressing was delicious. The bread was good. The atmosphere made us me feel like at grandma’s house. Was very laid back atmosphere. Nice place to grab a bite to eat. Next, we plan to try the desserts. We will definitely be back.

We heard great reviews and thought we finally found a Authentic Classy Italian Restaurant… WRONG! It is sad that it was nothing special and expensive for what we got. Biggest dissapointment ever!

This was our first time trying this local Italian restaurant. The food was well prepared and flavorful. My wife and I both enjoyed our dinner. Regrettably, the salmon special was a bit overpriced and the dining room was a noisy experience. The service was good and the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, I will recommend Mamma Mia Italian Bistro for good food and good service.
