This place was my go to for years. I left the city and came back for the holidays. I ordered some general tso chicken, fried rice, lo mein, and a shrimp egg roll. When I tell you the food was bland, i mean it was BLAND. There was little to no seasoning on the food. It tasted like hospital food. The chicken was buried under tons of flour. The sad part is with places having to either cut costs or raise prices I feel like if you’re gonna raise prices you need to keep that quality that got this place all the old 5 star reviews. Mandarin Kitchen, please fix your quality and make flavorful food because if you’re gonna keep making disappointing food, there are other cheaper Chinese restaurants to fill the gap.

I got carryout here before quite a while ago, and I remembered the food being pretty good. However, my husband and I recently decided to stop here and we were not happy with our meal. First of all, there were quite a few people waiting for food, but I was okay with that because I assumed that meant that when my food was done it would be handed to me fresh and hot. I was disappointed that the Hibachi Chicken I got was overly crunchy from overcooking, cold, and had VERY little sauce. I was honestly surprised that it was breaded at all, since every other restaurant I’ve tried this dish at has NOT had breading on the Hibachi chicken. It looked like overcooked popcorn chicken, and for the price we paid (I think it was around $16) I was really quite irritated. I ended up eating a piece or two, but it was just too tough to be edible. It was also tasteless (another disappointment because it was supposed to be spicy) and I ended up throwing it to the cats. My husband said his food was just “okay”, which isn’t really a good reason to go back again. There are cheaper chinese restaurants nearby that we have never had a bad meal at, and I think we will stick to those from now on.

Delicious breaded tofu that I ordered with a sweet and spicy sauce. It was a bit chewy/too crunchy so a little hard to eat… Crab Rangoon was 3 outta 10 but otherwise good meal. I Will return.

Lousy food. Went in at closing and maybe that’s why it was so bad. I ordered pineapple fried rice a favorite of mine, crab Rangoon, that looked nothing like they’re supposed to. And the wonton wrapper was still RAW and like LEATHER, not crispy at all; also ordered dumplings which were so bland and the dip tasted watered down. The sauce was taken out of a fridge and placed directly onto my food. I watched the counter gal take a paper towel and dab them with that towel. I came in at 7:35pm. Ordered and came back in at 8pm to pick up as I was instructed. My order was ready at 8:11pm. I was presented with a paper sack, thanked and bid goodnight.
