We got used to ordering Ma’Ono takeout during the pandemic, so it’s great to know that the dream is still alive. I don’t know if we caught them on a particularly good night, or if they are able to perform at a super high level for takeout without guests to take care of, but it was even better than I remember! The fried chicken was fried perfectly, the fries were fresh and the broccoli salad was chopped up into much smaller pieces than it used to be – maybe not as pretty on a plate, but much more user friendly.

Update: This place has now moved inside Benbow Room. There is a small door where they place all online orders! Still the best!

Great Hawaiian joint. The food has great presentation and the portions are decent. The lighting was a little dimmer than I like. The fried chicken is light and not greasy. I read a lot about the fatty saimin and looked forward to it, however, it was slightly disappointing. Although it had a great broth it was not bold enough. The taste is quite delicate compared to international chains such as Santouka or Danbo. The steak was absolutely delicious as it was cooked to perfection. The meat was tender and juicy. I would definitely go order it again and again.

I enjoyed my visit to Ma’ono. I’m not in West Seattle very often, but I found myself there on a Friday night and it was still open at 9pm so I visited. I’ve been to the window they have at U Village and enjoyed it, but had not yet visited the original location. There were a bunch of tables available as the main dinner rush was on its way out. When we left there were many more tables open. The restaurant does feel a little Hawaiian without being kitschy but overall it’s contemporary and rather dimly lit. The waitstaff were capable and helpful. I ended up sharing a mild spicy fried chicken sandwich, Ma’ono burger, and an order of fries. Everything tasted great. The fried chicken was moist and had a nice crust on it. The fries were tasty as well – nicely fried and not too greasy. My favorite item was the burger. The ground chuck had a deep beefy flavor and the toppings were tasty too. My favorite part of the burgers were the Hawaiian sweet roll buns. They’re similar to the one’s you’ll find in stores, but they are bigger to accommodate burgers. I had a good meal and would return.

Excellent service and value! Dining in was great and everything comes boxed up, so you can be taken home afterwards. I don’t have any complaints about that if it cuts down on serving time and everything made to go.

Some of the most amazing fried chicken you’ll have in Seattle (yes it’s better than that local fried chicken shop that has become a local chain). Ma’ono as Hawaiian and other Asian inspired flavors to is menu to compliment the fried chicken. Me and my friend ordered the whole bird, which is 10 pieces and we finished the whole thing, along with our Mac and Kimcheese and sweet rolls. Absolutely yummy and definitely will come back soon

The food was good. A chicken sandwich and a 2 pc chicken combo. The chicken sandwich wasn’t very crispy but still good. The 2 pc was split 1 tender 1 drummy. The tender wasn’t crispy but the drumstick was. Bad night for tenders or they sat too long. Spam masubi was good. Overall pleasant experience.

Nice restaurant that serves Hawaiian fusion dishes. Their most well known item is fried chicken, but be mindful that you need to reserve one in advance when you make a reservation. Breakfast includes dishes like loco moco and spam musubi in addition to the fried chicken. Great for families too.
