Marano’s Trattoria Menu – Peabody, MA

Type : Restaurant

Location : Peabody, MA

Growing up in an Italian household it’s nearly impossible not to end up having a passion for food. My parents immigrated from Italy back in the 50’s and they settled in the North End when they first arrived in the US. My dad is from Pratola Serra, a small province in the Avelino region of Naples and my mom is from a small fishing town called Augusta in Sicily. I have had a life-long passion for cooking traditional home-style Italian dishes like your mother or nonna would make. We love meeting people and our goal is to make them happy through food & conversations. We hope all of you come along for the journey.

First time ordering a salad here. Greek salad with grilled chicken. It was delicious and checked all the boxes you would want in a salad ! I’m a fan !

We had the Pizza, Calzones, Arincini, Meatballs, and Garlic Bread. Everything was AMAZING. Better than homemade. The Spinach and Cheese Calzone was the best I’ve had. Loaded with spinach and cheese with a thin crust. OMG. Was the best! The Arincini (Rice Balls) were also amazing. My wife is Sicilian and these were as good if not better than hers (don’t tell her 🙂 ). The meatballs were absolutely delicious and their home made sauce just made everything even better. The sauce was truly authentic as if we were in Italy. I highly recommend this place.

The chicken salad was inedible. It was incredibly chunky (thick pieces of stringy chicken breast) and it was so dry it was starting to turn brown. I’m honestly shocked they let it leave the kitchen. Down the drain it went.

Teriyaki steak tip rice bowl all rice 3 pieces broccoli and the steak was 5 thin pieces of steak not worth $17.50 and when brought it back he basically told me that there are pieces missing saying we ate it and brought it back. Not the case. He said they put 1/4 lb steak, not what are they paying 32 dollars a lb gir steak.

Seriously, hands down, without a doubt, the best Italian food you’ll ever eat! My family has ordered nearly every different item on their menu with zero complaints! Their food is beyond delectable and I wish I could order some right now! (It’s Monday, the one day they’re closed.) Ever since my beloved Italian Gram passed away I’ve missed the specific flavors and tastes for so long! NEVER would I ever order meatballs so Yati (the owner) sent me one and it was freaking life changing! My whole family is addicted now! I could provide recommendations all day. For instance, the rice bowls, real arancini, the best chicken marsala, Da Sangy is on a whole other level, the seafood is always fresh and perfectly cooked, steak and cheese on point, I’ll keep going if you need me to, lol! This restaurant is special and perfect just the way it is. The quality of food is unparalleled!

Marano’s was excellent, the food is home made , the pizza is Italian style , the Sicilian pizza is very good as well. The Haddock was delicious, very fresh seafood. A hidden gem on the North Shore. The owner was very friendly and his attention to detail is evident in the quality of the food.

I ordered two garden salads for pick up last night and was very disappointed with the lack of everything besides what seemed to be just iceberg lettuce. We have ordered their pasta dishes many times and are satisfied with the quality. I hope that this review will be viewed and Marano’s will attempt to create a quality salad with not only lettuce.

Best Chicken Cutlet sandwich I have had in a long time. It had Buffalo mozzarella cheese, Roasted red peppers, Basil, and Prosciutto. The bread was fresh too. My go to place here now.

If you haven’t eaten at Marano’s yet, I’m not sure what you’re waiting for! The owners have taken meticulous control of the kitchen offering the freshest “fast” food around! The steak tips are are always delicious and perfectly cooked. The shrimp scampi is the owners personal recipe that never disappoints. For Sunday mornings it’s usually “the hangover” burger that combines a fried egg with a burger that always satisfies (add the steak fries and you’ll be as good as new!) Yeah…can you tell we’re HUGE fans?!

Before ownership changed this place was fantastic. Don’t get me wrong the food is decent, but every time I order from there it seems they’re having issues. Last time I ordered, i went to pick up my food and overheard the delivery driver mention he delivered to the wrong address…again. Meanwhile I was sitting there waiting for my food for 20+ minutes, I asked about it again to see how long it would be and the girl picked it up right beside her where it sat the entire 20 minutes, meaning it WAS ready when I got there. Then today, I wanted to call an order to be delivered. I didn’t have my card on me (my partner accidentally left with it in their wallet) but I had the numbers for them to run. The girl on the phone told me they were “too busy to run my card” I asked her if it’s that she isn’t ABLE to or if she won’t, she said she could but she wouldn’t do it for me. That’s when I told her they will be losing a customer and a sale by not doing it. She said “that’s okay”. I doubt I will be going back after this experience. Now I’m going to be ordering my chicken Marsala from Teresa’s! Yummy!
