Like many restaurants, these days there did not appear to be enough wait staff, but our waitress was helpful and did her best. The servings were really big. I had the gluten-free pasta with baked mostaccioli on top and it was delicious with the garlic basil sauce. I Friends had the Eggplant Parmesan with three giant slices of eggplant and they loved it. I think it’s a little dark in the restaurant but it’s very attractive. Be aware to go in the door to the right because the door to the left is not marked and it looks like it is for the restaurant, but it is for a banquet section And we thought the restaurant was closed at first. Also, when it got crowded, the waitress would not do separate bills, and we had to divide the bill up equally between the three of us. Further, there was a charge for charging the bill.

I just want to say, this place deserves its flowers. I came here in April 2020 to celebrate my birthday. Everything was shut down. However, my mom and I sat in backspace with the windows covered and got indoor dining. I am so glad to see this restaurant still operating after so many years. Solid food and solid service. I never reviewed it publicly because of the backlash and craziness of the pandemic- but my mom and I were treated with such warmth and kindness by the staff and allowed the opportunity to sit down and have a meal served to us. You guys rock and I hope you stay open forever. Thank you for that memory.

My wife threw a surprise birthday party for me. I’ve loved this place since my childhood when they had the location in Logan Square. This was by far the BEST experience I’ve had celebrating Any event at any Restaurant in the past. Our Server and the Manager both were AMAZING and went above and beyond to make it special. Truly a memorable experience and will now be our go to for any future celebrations/special events. The last time that I’ve felt this well cared for was our wedding. I felt Valued as a guest/customer. This was already one of my favorite pizza places from my childhood but they have really raised the bar. Thank you everyone for an Amazing and Memorable 40th Birthday.

We’re from Chicago and one of the staple places growing up was Father and Son in Logan Square. It’s sadly been gone and I was surprised to hear that Marcello’s still existed in Northbrook. The service was incredible and the food was SPOT ON! It brought back so many memories. My family will surely continue coming.

My hubby and I have been eating here for over 25 plus yrs. My children are hooked as well. We haven’t found a pizza place better than here yet and most likely never will. What a great spot in downtown Northbrook! Lots of high quality choices on the menu. Family friendly spot with excellent service and friendly staff. Not just a great dinner or drink spot, they also host events. We’ve hosted and attended numerous events at Marcellos and all have been great. Larry and Louie and the rest of the staff are top notch!

Food: Broasted Chicken was enjoyed but its coleslaw side didn’t give anyone in our group a reason to actually like coleslaw. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, just that we still don’t like coleslaw. Broasted potatoes were crispy but required one to season to taste at the table. Italian Sausage with (green) Peppers & Marinara appetizer was large enough for three people and much enjoyed by all of them. Thin crust pizza must have had too many toppings, because its crust was soggy while dining in. Have no fear, though, because as a baked-then-broiled leftover, it still wasn’t crispy, but it was firm, almost chewy, very flavorful, and definitely worth ordering as takeout. Hot Cinnamon Ticos reminded everyone of churros.
