Stopped by for breakfast on a Friday morning. Even though it was a weekday, it was still crowded since there’s no more than 10 tables. However, service is fast and the tables are constantly clearing out. Also, the parking is very small, so cars are double-parked on purpose. If someone leaves first, people have no problems moving their car.

Super delicious just a really small and cramped place. I hope they get a bigger location. They deserve it off the food alone. Almost no parking area. They have a bunch of crazy tacos but plate shown is the Milky Way. Chilaquiles with barbacoa and papas con chorizo

One of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had! I barely even glanced at the menu – Tom (Maria’s husband) just asked me what I liked and ordered me the perfect plate with everything that I wanted to try. The enchiladas and brisket were mind-blowing, and the service felt like family. Thank you for the perfect welcome to San Antonio!

Great taco spot. The staff is friendly and very helpful when you are ordering food. There are so many choices you could go for mouths and not eat the same thing. The El Hugo is a must try. Can’t wait to go again.

Awesome food place. I had the sopes plate with brisket. My friend had the chicken enchiladas. Next time I will get the puffy enchiladas. I parked on Dickey St. The place is small and you can taste the home cooked goodness. This is a family run– my fave. Don’t be surprised if you see the SPURS eating here…they have received a lot of accolades from Texas Monthly etc…

I had the brisket puffy tacos… They held up… Crispy and fully stuffed with brisket and topped with fresh lettuce onion cilantro. Look. You can literally make your own Tex Mex menu here.

Great food and hospitality. Small place not a lot of seats, however, lots of food combinations. They also have a hand written menu on the wall with their regular customers orders you could choose from too. I think I had a “big Joe’s”. I greatly enjoyed it. I will go back the next time I am in that area. This was my first experience here; be patient it’s not a fast food establishment.

Was visiting San Anton to drop off our daughter at college when we stumbled across Maria’s via social media. Stopped in for breakfast and were happy we did. Was greeted outside by the super friendly owner while he was barbecuing brisket. He was great to talk to and passionate about his restaurant. He is a war veteran and coincidentally a customer was inside dining and noticed a tattoo on his arm recognizing him after years of not seeing him since when they both served together in the military -was a great story!
