Marino’s is a long-standing Staunton establishment with a completely new look and feel. A community gathering place, music venue, and place to get great eats. While small, the space is well designed and offers plenty of seating, including a party room. All our dishes were well prepared, made fresh, and were exceptional portions. It all was a cut above. Okay it was extra!

Marino’s has been around since 1917 and it has that atmosphere of warm hospitality, music, and character. There’s imagery of Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan, for example. But there’s also lively images of the musicians that play at Marino’s; the kind of images that show this has been a place of gathering for a long time. Service and food are both great (go with the sweet potato fries, you won’t be disappointed). When it’s warm, there’s outdoor seating. Don’t be deceived when you walk in, there’s another room to accommodate additional seating. There’s street side parking, but also a marked lot nearby.

Great food and libations in a friendly upbeat atmosphere where musicians may stroll by and serenade you with a banjo, mandolin and standup bass on occasion! A Staunton institution, no doubt.

I wasn’t greeted..had to ask where to sit( they were not busy) personal food and items on counter..took 25 mins to get a $14 hamburger that was thinner than the slice of tomato that came with it, and over cooked( I wasn’t asked how I’d like it).. the woman who wasn’t waiting on me but behind the counter used profanity talking to someone down the bar from me..loud enough for me to hear, and huffed when I asked for a straw..no apology..my recommendation is..if you want beer and apps..yeah, nice hang out with Excellent music…pie looked amazing…but for lunch, hard pass

We’re back! Tuesday weekly jam packed with usual villain’s plus new faces. Usual acoustic – banjos, bass, mandolin, fiddle, harmonica, horns, washboard, bring it whatever. Place was gutted and remade better but same vibe. Music veered eclectic country, bluegrass, R&B, rock. I think there were 25 or 35 people there to play. Good there are 2 rooms and an outdoor beer garden and stage.

Found Marino’s by googling live music. We were passing from Marietta to PA and stopped in Staunton VA for the night. Food was excellent, live entertainment was Mojo Parker- blues which we love. Best yet we could take the dogs. Met the owner and family and heard about the process of opening Marino’s just over a month ago. We wish them the best on the new restaurant.

An experience. Everything was perfectly in tune – the food, the drinks, the people, the employees, and (of course) the music. Had myself a club sandwich with sweet potato fries and was not disappointed.

The food is a bit high priced and the drinks are extremely high priced. The signature cocktails are about $11. They are extremely tasty, though. Just not $11 worth of tasty. There is no liquor on the bar that is less than $12 a shot. They do, however, have a very interesting selection including some off-the-beaten-track liquors such as Diplomatico rum! It can be difficult to get their attention to order. There are very few vegetarian options, though this is typical for the area. It would be nice if they broke the mold, though. The fries are great. The veggie burger is kind of bland.

My first visit to Marino’s Lunch since the renovation! The owners have done a fantastic job with the decor. It’s bright, cheery and intimate. The bar area is very inviting and the outdoor seating area is spacious with comfortable couches and chairs. While listening to authentic bluegrass music, I ordered the pimento cheese dip with toast wedges. I grew up eating pimento cheese and this did not disappoint! I also had the “Marino’s Classic”
