While there are many pizza joints in the Triad, there are very few authentic Italian ones that are family-owned and locally focused. Mario’s Pizza is just that though!
Brothers Vinny, Mario and Tony, are from and grew up in Brooklyn. They’ve always been in the food business. Thanks to their Italian origins they love and know a thing or two about making pizza!
They left Brooklyn in 1981 and moved to the North Carolina coast. It was then that they officially opened Mario’s Pizza! They had a store in Jacksonville Mall and one in Havelock. At that time they focused solely on pizza.
From then to now, they’ve always offered authentic Italian-style pizza. Their recipes even date back to their family over in Calabria, Italy.

As a former NY resident it’s great to find a place that gives NY taste without the NY price tag. Great cheese slices (crispy thin crust but still flavorful) , garlic knots that will take out a vampire a mile away and taste great!!

I normally have great experiences with my food and customer service. Today must be an off day for these guys I ordered my pizza to be square cut. I got a triangle cut pizza….very disappointed it seemed like a laughable matter to the staff on shift. I can’t express how embarrassing and rude it was to have my face laughed in when I asked about it

Never had any issues here and pizza has always been fresh with great quality. Prices feel fair and staff is kind. The manager (I believe he is the manager) obviously takes pride in the restaurant and their food. He has really positive vibes and does well in connecting with the customers. This is in my top 3 pizza places in Greensboro, if not number 1

The contents of the steak and cheese sub were good for the most part, but the roll was a bit tough like maybe it was a little stale… still could tolerate it though. The buffalo wings were seasoned well but it seemed as if the wings weren’t necessarily tossed, like maybe some cold buffalo sauce was just poured on top of the wings and put into the box being that it was sauce puddled into the bottom of the box but not much sticking to the actual wings. I normally order from the new garden location and they’re AMAZING every time, but decided to try the friendly location this time. There’s definitely plenty of room for improvement, I’ll be trying soon again and hopefully I’ll have a better experience.
