We were there this past weekend. $78 for 2 large subs, small sub and one kids hot dog- no drink only food. We have visited this spot since 2003. We won’t go back for a long time. We noticed the beef lacked flavor and the cabbage with the dressing amount seemed to have been cut by half, as if it needed more of that delicious dressing they used to slap on it generously. So sad to see a place like this go down hill. Not sure it they have new owners? New management? Then had to wait 10 min. To get 2 packs of hot sauce.

Well….end of an era. Mario’s was the BEST low cost pizza in the area for decades. I would take the Metro from McLean, VA…then walk 4 blocks to enjoy their two slice pizza combo (with drink). The photo on the left- the original Mario’s. On the right- Pizza only a 7-Eleven customer could love.

First visit here and it was amazing! Me and boyfriend always pass this hidden gem when going to Petco and we decided to stop here for lunch. We got their famous steak and cheese which is to die for. We also got hotdogs, fried chicken, they’re amazing soda glass bottles, and the cheesecake & red velvet cake. They’re reasonable priced in my opinion for the fresh authentic food they provide. Love the vibes here. Will be coming back.

All-around incredible experience. Mario’s is reminiscent of my local spots at the Jersey Shore– classic food and always hopping. In the summer, save for bad weather, I’ve never seen the place not busy. Highly recommend the mushroom burger and Old Bay fries for dinner and coffee toffee ice cream for dessert!

I’ve been going to this place since I was a kid and used to love it. The quality has gone so downhill. It reminds me of the lost city of El Dorado only the drunks and the insane seek it out. The level of disrespect to customers with the horrible service and excessive prices. They are just coasting on the name and history. It was close to thirty dollars for a cup of ice cream and two slices of pizza. The pizza was not good with little sauce and a thick uneven crust that was barely cooked in places. They informed me they only had bottled water and that they only had the large ice cream sizes because it was the weekend. They are just insulting and disrespecting the customers for the last few cents. This place is going down the drain and will have little in the way of repeat customers from amongst the sober. There is no pride and they seem to have utter contempt for their customers. If they do not change I will celebrate the day they close.

This used to be my all time favorite steak and cheese spot me and my family would come here all the time good memories. But what happen? Did ownership change? Did he die? Because the steak and cheese don’t even taste the same no more as I remember. Looks like less quality meat it’s just so different don’t taste the same very disappointed specially if I’m paying $20 just for the sandwich.

Fair well lefty and Joe. It’s just not the same without them. The history is there and that’s about it. I remember years back waiting in line to order a lefty’s steak and cheese and it was worth the time and money. Now the love isn’t there and it cost $62 for 2 whole subs and a large fries. I regret giving it a try again. I was better off with the memories.
