Feelin fancy while strolling through Frontenac (as one does) – Mariposa fits right in. Nicely understated yet stylish interior. Oh yeah and the food is pretty dang good too. Had the most excellent salmon tacos- be sure to ask for a fork. They are large! And super yummy.

We had an excellent experience dining here. We had great food, great service, and a friendly and clean environment to dine in. We had the pleasure of meeting the restaurant manager and we were served (excellently, I might add) by our server, Buffy. Bathrooms are clean. Outdoor covered seating space is great. They have a small event room that looked intimate and classy. Food was absolutely incredible. Top notch ingredients and quality preparation. Plenty of parking, very clean. Positive experience.

This place was a real surprise. It was highly rated here but I still had low expectations for a mall restaurant. Lots of highlights: the understated elegant atmosphere, the super tasty popover (see pic) delivered warm and free with strawberry butter, Buffy the best server ever, a small mug of (free) warm chicken consume’ delivered to the table while you peruse the menu, and the parmesan breaded chicken was amazing. the kitchen kindly added spaghetti on it for me for no charge. All around, a true five star experience!

Unplanned experiences can sometimes be the absolute best experiences. Mariposa was an unplanned lunch that left us speechless. We were seated immediately, brought a warm and perfectly baked popover, with a tea cup of warm chicken consommé. The menu is simple and elegant. The crab grain bowl was amazing and service was nothing less than superb. What a great place for lunch.

Very disappointing. Been coming to this restaurant for years and the food was amazing as always but the service was horrible. The server Lois was rude to us and the wait staff around us. She forgot someone’s food at the table & when we let her know one of the orders came out wrong, she got an attitude. Once the food was dropped off, we never saw her again until checks got dropped off. Everyone at our table has worked in the service industry & are usually very understanding but the attitude and acting like we were “bothering her” was unacceptable for a place that’s this nice & expensive.

I was in town for the weekend and decided to treat myself to a nice lunch. Mariposa did not disappoint! The best part of my experience was the top-notch service I received from my server, Glenn.

We will be back! Delicious and such a nice spot for lunch! The chicken salad is very good. Even the burger and fried! Great hub with social distancing in the restaurant. And there are few outdoor tables too!

Neiman’s is nice for a lunch while at the shopping center. Room is bright, which is nice. We had the chicken salad with the orange soufflé. Always a good choice. The chicken salad is always tasty, the soufflé is more of an aspic than soufflé ,but refreshing . The service was so-so. Our server seemed more interested in chatting with another customer , rather than tending to the other diners needs. I understand that perhaps there is a relationship that develops between those that dine at an establishment more frequently than with those that don’t dine on the regular, but the overt preferential treatment is frankly rude, and not what is expected at Neiman’s. The server also seemed inconvenienced by a request for sweetener for iced tea. As we dined, we noticed that the other tables with different servers from our section received great service, and the gentleman who brought our water was far more attentive and polite than the actual server was to us. Frontenac Plaza needs a better selection of restaurants. It is sad that Cardwell ‘s closed, as there was a bit of competition for Neiman’s and the service was always good. Neiman’s has a good thing with their popovers, chicken salad and tiny starter cup of their tasty chicken broth. Nice simple lunch, so-so service….for the “uncool” customers.
