This was my husband and I first time coming to this place. The atmosphere was very quiet, old style Italian restaurant. Our servicer was great! Very polite and attentive. Now, the food was a great disappointment. Especially with all the views I’ve read about this place. So to come here and get tasteless food was very disappointing and shocking with the ” so call” great rep they have built for years. I’m a chef myself and I’m truly embarrassed with what came out for us to eat for lunch. And for $66 and change its not worth spending your money here.

One of the best places in the city, the pizza is delicious! They have the good sausage, too. I’ve been coming here for over 35 years and never had a bad experience. Very much old school italian vibe that you will love and I promise you will love the food.

Pizza is good, mussels are good, service is good, prices are very reasonable. This is old school, not trendy or slick. There will be plastic cups and the woodwork is dark but this has been a great family tradition for decades and we have never been disappointed.

Don’t get to go here because of distance but this place is a South Philly gem. Started with clams casino, calamari, and stuffed mushrooms with crab. All three were unbelievably tasty, shared with the whole table. Make sure to get bread to dip in the clam sauce. Followed these appetizers with a pepperoni pizza, white pizza with spinach and shrimp marinara. The pepperoni pizza is so delicious,same goes for the white pizza. They cooked both just right so that the crust was crispy and cheese was just right and not burned. The shrimp marinara dish portion was generous and could possibly be shared between diners. Old world atmosphere and fantastic service by our friends at Marras. In the heart of Philadelphia, there is not a better place for Italian cuisine.

We go very often. I have been going there since I was a child. I was always satisfied with the exception of this latest visit. I ordered chicken parmigiana with a side of spaghetti. The chicken was pounded down so much all I tasted was the breading. It was dry, very little gravy(sauce), very little mozzarella and pretty much burnt. I literally had a fork full of spaghetti. My brother in law came in from out of town and was looking for good authentic Italian food .. quite disappointing! My husband and I go out weekly and sadly this wasn’t a great experience. I will go back , hopefully it was just an off day!

Haven’t been here in 30 years. Just like I remember! Everyone was so friendly from the hostess to our waiter. Didn’t get his name but he was wonderful. Food was excellent. Won’t wait anothe 30 years to go back!
