The place was nice but I had asked the waitress what her opinion was of the best dish there and she said the scallops. Cool, $30 figured I’d get at least my moneys worth. I got three seared scallops on a plate with undercooked thimble of rice in the middle. My two year old could have eaten that as an appetizer. Not one to complain but this takes the cake on false “fine dining”. Waitress was nice despite her misjudgement on the entree.

I’ve been here a few times and never felt welcomed. But I still tried to give them the benefit of doubt because the food is on the good side. But this last experience just made me think, enough is enough. I went for a birthday dinner with my spouse. The moment we walked in the door, the staff’s grim frowning faces just made me want to leave immediately. But since it was a birthday, I chalked it down and tried to be in good spirit. The manager just looked downright depressed and the waiting staff just looked angry. This really dampened the mood. But then I realized that they were polite and friendly to a small number of people. I’ve never experienced a restaurant so overtly discriminatory. So if you aren’t a regular, then they don’t even bother with you? To make matters worse, even though we were at a birthday dinner, not only did the staff not acknowledge anything to us (at least some kind words would have sufficed), they were actually giving other tables free samples of food without offering our table anything. I try not to write really negative reviews because I run a business myself, but wow, this place really pushed me over the edge.

One of my favorite New Orleans restaurants (and I’ve been to all the good ones). I’ve been probably 6 times now and each time I go the menu has some new twists. There are always lots of new specials and the courtyard is fantastic. A perfect place for a romantic date. I recommend the crazy sorbets like strawberry jalepeno and orange basil as well as the goat cheese salad.

Romantic bistro is definitely an appropriate description, Google. I treated my mom to brunch here. We were the only ones in the restaurant during the Saint’s season opener. We had the staff to ourselves and the environment was wonderful. The chef take’s basic brunch ideas and adds his own pzazz, turning a boring breakfast sandwich into something gourmet.

I have only had good experiences here. The food has been consistent and very enjoyable. I have not experienced longer than normal NOLA wait times or had anything missing from my to-go boxes. The servers have recognized us even when it has been months since out last visit and are always willing to answer questions about the food. Also like many other restaurants in the city they support Hollygrove Market which guarantees local fresh ingredients.
