My husband and I come here weekly. We always get the avocado salad and two bibimbaps in the hot stone bowls with short rib. The food is fantastic but the atmosphere is also so lovely. Its well lit (while still not being too bright), soft music, great service, and never a wait but somehow always people at other tables. Its just an enigma of the perfect neighborhood spot.

Maru is an amazing hole-in-the-wall restaurant! Staff are friendly and attentive but not constantly checking on you (which I personally like.) I had a Philadelphia Roll and Miso Ramen-both were delicious! Great selection of traditional, authentic Japanese and Korean cuisine. Fair prices and good portions; I would go weekly but unfortunately I’m just visiting and live across the country. Definitely a hidden gem; we (my family) were unfortunately the only dine-in customers during our entire meal. 100% would recommend-definitely visit if you’re in the area!

Best Korean in Vienna. If you are wondering along the ‘strip’ (Maple Ave) and hunger for Korean food, this is an excellent choice. This is not a Korean BBQ or some nouveau Korean fried chicken restaurant. Traditional foods are served here. We did not try the sushi but stayed with the Korean savory dishes. All were delicious. They serve alcohol but one can bring their own for a $5/person fee. Ample parking in the back. Come early. It does fill up quickly.

A very nice first visit (and first experience of a Sushi restaurant). Service was very attentive and food was plentiful with good portions and a variety of flavors. Plates were well presented as well.

OH MY GOODNESS. Let me start by saying I am Korean, and was raised on authentic Korean cuisine (thanks mom). This place has earned it’s keep as my go-to spot for jigae, bibimbap, and honestly, the sushi is on point too. It’s probably nostalgia for me, but I love love love everything about Maru. Parking and entering from the back of the restaurant, the homemade ginger dressing on their salads, the endless sides. It’s also family-owned / operated, and they are just the sweetest people in the world. Super quick too! Prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is just a cozy hole-in-the-wall. I’m so thankful this place exists when I’m craving some Korean comfort food. Red-bean rice and hot barley tea sound good right about now.

Fantastic korean food find! I was so satisfied by everything we ate while here! We tried the kimchi pancake, kimcho jigae, dolsot bibimbap and the beef yakisoba and it was all perfect! Our server was always there to get us what we needed if we asked but as is common in Korea, they won’t be hovering and constantly checking on you, you will have to get their attention. I was thrilled with the quality of food and can’t wait to go back!

We ordered sushi, seafood Dolsot bibimbap and some soup for early dinner. The food tasted okay when we were eating. However, 30 mins after we left there, my friends and I started to have stomach bloating and sort of pinching pain in the tummy. We felt that the food had so much MSG in it which made my stomach full of gas afterwards and made me nauseous.
