Excellent little gem! They have the best crab rangoons that are fresh and hot. Loved the ginger salad and the sushi is wonderful. We’ve been there a few times and the food and service is top notch.

We live in Springfield but will drive down frequently to go to Maru. The food had been top notch everytime, the service is amazing. We were going about once a week for a long time, but it’s been about a year since we had been there. When we went last night, our server remembered us and was happy to see us back. Service and food are the reasons people continue to go to restaurants, other places could use a refresher course from Maru. Love. Love. Love.

I absolutely LOVE Maru. It is the BEST sushi in the southwest Missouri area, and you can’t change my mind. The fish is always fresh. Most everything is created in house. One of my favorite appetizers is the kikomaki with their homemade peanut sauce. You can never go wrong the the rainbow roll. My personal favorite roll is the baked salmon roll along with the Kamehameha, but any roll you choose will not disappoint!

We love eating here! My husband and daughter always order the general chicken and I usually order the shrimp in lobster sauce or Maru soup. My son loves the Gyoza. We all also enjoy many of the sushi rolls. Service is great and the place is always clean.

Good food, great service, high prices. The tempura was amazing, cashew chicken was ok (big pieces of chicken breast) but the sauce was kinda flat, it needed something. I’m not a chef by all means. Overall it was a nice experience.

The worst nigiri I’ve ever had in my life! I ordered salmon nigiri and it was some old nasty smoked salmon?!? The tuna nigiri was disgusting. Tasted fowl and it looks like someone tried to cover up the fact it was spoiled with some weird seasoning. The rice tasted like a fart with your mouth open. Who made this dirt?!?! $70 down the drain. Put it all right in the trash. you can get sushi from a grocery store way better than this disgusting stuff. I’ve had nigiri from sams way better and a whole lot cheaper. There are places in Springfield that are actually worth the money for good fresh fish. Do yourself a favor and take the extra 15 minutes and go to one of those so you don’t get food poisoning or something from this place.

Fantastic little restaurant! I decided to try the pad tai, even though I love sushi. The waiter was knowledgeable when asked if it could be made gluten free. My 12 year old son enjoyed the golden California roll. The only reason gave 4 stars was we waited nearly an hour for our food. The upside was our food was delicious and steaming hot! I’m certain that the wait was kitchen related, because our waiter came by several times asking if we needed anything and apologized for the wait. I will eat here again!
