The sauce is so sweet. I know a lot of folks in Pennsylvania love sweet tomato sauces to cut the acidity, but I am not a fan. The toppings are pretty good. The crust is not crisp and crunchy, it’s more like a pan pizza. Kind people, good service!

A friend of mine told me about this place back in the 90’s. I loved the pizza. Recently I remembered the name and I Google it. I couldn’t believe it was still there. So I called and got through and ordered. It was the same fantastic pizza as before. Even my teenage son said it was the best pizza he ever had. I got 4 with every topping for $28. This is a hidden gem.

This pizza is one of the best pie pizzas that I ever had. I am from Steubenville Ohio so I get to enjoy that really good Square pizza with cold cheese on top weekly, but this place is definitely a hidden . That is half of the reason why I enjoyed it so much. The fact that it’s a house on a one way street slanging za out of the basement is so nostalgic. I honestly drove by and parked up the street wondering if it was even a real pizza joint. I stepped out of the truck and could smell the pizza from a block up. I walked down and was greeted by an extremely nice lady and was informed she was sold out for the day so I placed an order for the next day to take it home to the family after work. I finished my shift the next day and went and picked up 2 pizzas one regular and one with only cheese. Drove them over an hour back home and the 7yo and her mom absolutely loved it. Prices were great, $7 a pie no matter how many toppings. We will be ordering again soon.

A friend recently reminded me of Mary Jo’s! So glad she did because I thought this place was gone. Haven’t had it since I was a kid, and it’s as delicious as I remember. The sauce is on the sweeter side, WHICH I LOVE. And it’s $7 for a decent sized pizza…can’t beat that!

I grew up in Pittsburgh in 80s. I was sitting here telling my wife about this little pizza place in basement of house we loved. I googled it and I can’t believe it’s still open in same place. It’s been 30 years since I’ve had it and I live in NC but it will happen!!! Can’t wait!

Tiny hidden gem. Been there for years. If you want a local pizza experience, go there. You can’t beat the price these days, and you can get as many toppings as you like for one price. Highly reccomend for cheap eats, I can only finish about half.
