Great service and good food! The catfish was delightful, and the buc fries were the best cheese fries I’ve ever had! A solid cherry pie and ok hush puppies. an amazing environment, I really enjoyed my time here. A little heavy on seasoning. Also, catfish was a little undercooked. So much so that when I took a bite, I could picture the poor fella swimming upstream to mate and dying in the process. But, other than that, great! The waitress was amazing, she gave us so much extra ranch!! Reading the history of the restaurant on the back of the menu is a must-do to truly enjoy your experience at Mary’s Grill. And, the cherry on top of the meal (literally) was the delectable cherry pie!

Establishment was clean and felt homey like a small town restaurant. Staff was friendly and attentive enough. My son had the popcorn chicken and waffle fries. I thought the popcorn chicken tasted kinda funny but he had no complaints. My daughter had the chicken sandwich and it was huge! She ate most of it though she had to revert to a knife and fork because it was too big to eat like a normal sandwich. I had the steak sandwich, the flavor was good but the meat was a little too stringy so one bite became a struggle. Overall the food was alright, nothing I would rush back to have again. It was $40+ for the three of us which I feel is a little steep but food prices are going up everywhere.

Delicious food and very generous portions. Big variety of potato options, and everything was well cooked. The open faced rusty beef sandwich is my favorite meal, but hubby likes the chicken tidbits. Service is friendly but a bit laid back, best to tell them if you’re in a hurry.

I had the chicken fried steak. AWESOME. 6 oz., tender cube steak, lightly breaded by hand, nice crunch but not hard or thick. Creamy soft interior fresh cut fries, and okra fried to perfection. Not sure if the gravy was from scratch, but it was great.

I ordered a burger from this fine establishment. The bun was delicious, meat was perfectly cooked. Oh lord. The cheese was fantabulous! It was like the chef cut out he or she’s heart and planted it inside this delicious gourmet cheese. The buc fries were loaded with ranch. Yum. I cannot wait to eat again at this here settlement!

I really wanted to love this place but things didn’t go so well. It could be also a bad night to visit. But our waitress was so slow at getting to us on anything. Even having to ask the other girl to refill our 4 drinks that were empty for awhile. We thought it was just because the other side was busy but when we went to see the kinds of ice cream there was no one over there. The food was really good and was very well portioned. We might give it a second chance but not anytime soon.

We ate at Mary’s Grill during a break while playing in a softball tournament. The full menu is served all day, so I had pork chops and eggs. The pork chop was absolutely amazing! We also ordered the smothered chicken fried steak from the breakfast menu & a ranch burger. All were fantastic. The wait staff was friendly and the prices are more than reasonable. It’s a must try for home cooked, real, good food.

Oh my goodness, a thousand thumbs up! We found this place by accident, and then found ourselves mapping the distance to say “we would drive here JUST for this”. Huge portions, and homemade EVERYTHING. Truly a gem in Tonkawa! I had catfish, my partner had a burger, we shared pie. Yes, all the way around! Excellent food and friendly people! Also, there is a bakery next door owned by the same people, where they make pies fresh daily. We weren’t going home or we would have visited that. Wonderful experience! ❤️
