I have sampled many of Peruvian chicken restaurants in Fairfax area, and Mary’s is the best one. The chickens are brined and cook in batches, so they are always moist and flavorful. Half of a chicken with side orders of salad and beans are only about $12, which is way better and fuller than fast food. The chicken soup and beef soups are good also. The restaurant is sandwich between a laundromat and Seven Eleven, and gets busy on the weekends.

I was at Haley’s laundromat and I saw this place called Mary’s restaurant right next to the laundromat so I gave it a try. I ordered the steak and cheese with fries and I added a side of the chicken tamale. I also added a couple pepsis. The food was excellent. The chicken tamale was made with a chicken wing and he left the bone in to add more flavor. The tamale was very moist and very delicious just a tad of spice but very tasty. The Steak and Cheese Sandwich was really good too. The sandwich had a toasted sub roll with steak cheese lettuce tomato and light mayonnaise perfectly made and that was a companied by crispy fries. Overall the meal was excellent. As I was waiting for my laundry to complete next door I was able to have a good meal at Mary’s restaurant located at Fairfax circle next to Citco.

Horrible. Took more then 30mins for 3 small items and the guy at the front kept brushing me off. Food was not worth the wait. Please go else where with your money and time. I’d give 0 stars if I could.

The chicken here are decent, not anything special, but not bad either. What’s really special is their pupusas! this place’s pupusa locas are seriously amazing! They are made fresh with great flavor! They also offer many other dishes here, I have tried most and they are all decent. Overall this place offers fairly priced and good food, with amazing pupusas.

I was here last time 3 years ago when I lived in this area. I always enjoy the food here and I recommend to everyone to try it. NOT TODAY. PLEASE AVOID this place. It turn in dirty and unhygienic place. I’m so sad to lose the best sopa de res and charcoal Peruvian chicken. Why 2 stars? Because of the costumes service from one person (male/cashier)
