I want to like MaryScott’s since my wife had a good lunch here before. We came on St. Pats day and were disappointed. First the menu on the web site described the dishes, but the menu handout did not. Then the food was served on paper trays. They said it was to make their life easier. Well it wasn’t much fun digging beef stew off the paper liner.

The food was overall very good (my pork chop was a very good cut of meat and was done perfectly but also way over seasoned and too salty) but unfortunately the rudeness and unappreciative behavior of the cook and waiter really ruined the entire experience for our group. For the prices they charge in a town like New Harmony – I would expect to be treated much better. I would not go back.

We visited the area over our 20th wedding anniversary. After a really disappointing meal/experience on Thursday at a local winery, we “almost” didn’t come to New Harmony and drove 3 hours back home north. Sure glad we persevered! New Harmony itself was wonderful, just the balm we needed, and our dinner and service at MaryScott’s Kitchen was friendly, delicious, inspired and not pretentious–thanks for that!!! We felt immediately at home and welcomed, even when we asked to move our reservations up 2 hours because we’d been marching around in the heat all over the lovely little town and felt a bit wilty by the late afternoon. We started with the goat cheese and pork belly appetizers and I cannot say which was the best. Get them both! Delectable! Our service was impeccable–knowledgeable but not stuffy, genuinely friendly and interested, not phoney. My husband had the sirloin off the menu and I had the scallop special and we were both truly satisfied-cooked to perfection. Scott has a great sense of humor and he and Mary came round to chat and check in and we were delighted to connect with them. My guess is there isn’t a bad meal here, and if you’re looking for a delicious, authentic experience in a chef owned restaurant, MaryScott’s is the place to be. Many thanks for everything!

Best restaurant in town! Friends and I were welcomed on a Friday night and were seated with no wait. Scott was very friendly + attentive. Food was made fast – especially for our larger group and it all being made to order. Bruschetta shrimp pasta was A++! And when one plate was a little late (max. 5 minutes behind) Scott treated us to a complementary dessert. Thank you Mary and Scott for the wonderful evening in your idyllic town!

We had just drove down from in Annapolis not really knowing a lot about New Harmony. We didn’t know where to eat…. We hot the Jackpot… Scott the owner was so helpful explaining the good. And WOW was it great. I had the thick pork chop which was perfectly cook to perfection. My wife decided to have the shrimp and grits. Again fixed to perfection. The only sad part was we were so full and didn’t have room for the dessert.

My wife and I as well as 6 of our close friends visited New Harmony for the first time the first weekend in June 2018 and decided to try Mary Scott’s Kitchen. Let me just say, we were all very pleasantly surprised!! The food was truly outstanding in taste and freshness. I had the Cajun Pasta and it was delicious!! The sauce used was outstanding!! Everyone in our party was very happy with their dinner that evening! I even attempted to go back on Sunday to get Pasta to go for later, but they weren’t open on Sunday. I can highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
