This is my first time here and when I walked in the door an older gentleman asked me how I was doing and if I’ve been here before. After I told him no he proceeded to introduce himself as Mr Massey himself and showed me what to do. I got a chopped beef sandwich with Potato Salad. They were both great. Even the sweet tea was great. Not very often your eating lunch with the owner of a restaurant. I will definitely be coming back.

Best BBQ I’ve had so far in Texas. Coming from Houston, it’s a shame we aren’t too close to come by as often but hopefully that changes. Looking forward to the next time we pass by this area since we’ll definitely make a stop here!

This place makes you immediately feel like family. The owner (Mr. Massey) meets and greets you at the door and explains the ordering process and what all they have on the menu. Food is amazing and you pick the quantity of the meat you want (1/4,1/2,3/4), so you never feel like you didn’t get enough meat with your order.

Stopped for the 1st time at this place and was greeted by a young man who ask me if I had been here before. I said no and he helped me make selections from the menu and talked about the family BBQ. He was very friendly and helpful. I got brisket, ribs, and beans. All were excellent. The brisket was cut thick, cooked perfectly, and the taste was amazing! The ribs were even better as the meat almost fell off the bone. They provide extra sauce and it sure was good and complimented the meats. Will definitely be back here when driving through again. Got to meet the owner also and he was also friendly and you could tell a good person. The family and workers here put love and pride into the food they prepared and you can taste the difference. This BBQ is on a whole another level.

Food was great! Big portions. Service pretty good. Overall great experience. Wish they’d get A/C inside but there’s something about sweating while eating BBQ that goes with the experience.

This review is based on two visits. First one was from recommendations from a local RV dealer. Ordered the sliced brisket and ribs. Brisket was dry and luke warm, the ribs were okay but not much meat. Pinto beans were bland, not much seasoning. Two $$ is being kind, it was expensive. At least we were greeted when we came in, from behind the counter.

Stopped by on our way to Colorado from Houston area, reviews said it’s a good place to eat. It wasn’t the worst I’ve had, but far from the the raving high reviews. Dry brisket, mediocre sausage, no AC in the building, and cleanliness isn’t their strong suit. That being said, the pork ribs are pretty good and if you’re going to stop here, I recommend getting the pork ribs. Friendly service though.
