Friendly staff with a lively atmosphere. Wine pours are 8 ounces! Only had drinks so I can’t comment on the food. Piano bar is fun and starts around 6 p.m. Outdoor dining available plus two stories of inside dining tables. Try the “100 years of Port” offering — it’s around $65. Four 1 oz pours.

Celebrated mom’s 90th birthday. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The service was exceptional and they made mom feel extra special. There was always someone assisting the waiters making sure your glasses are filled, helping with any additional requests and anticipating ours and other diners’ needs. The place was impeccable. The dishes were divine. When you are in town and would like to enjoy fine cuisine and amazing service, Mastro’s Steakhouse in Santa Clara is highly recommended.

I was blown away. The ambiance, the service and the food was amazing! They feature live music on weekends, it was such a vibe. I tried the lemon drop, it’s a great presentation with dry ice, then a good Cabernet with our meals. We had the sautéed shrimp, that I would return for by itself.. I had the dry aged rib eye, he had the tomahawk, truffle wild mushrooms and sautéed spinach then blueberry butter cake for dessert. No complaints, everything came out in reasonable time, hot and well seasoned.

We enjoyed a fantastic relaxing time at Mastros. We started off with some tasty libations and appetizers, sharing crabcakes, delicious scallops, and roasted bone marrow. For entry’s we enjoyed a 22oz aged ribeye, and a buttery and super moist Chilaen seabass. And of course, we finished our time with their signature warm butter cake.

First, I treated a friend to this place as his going away meal and I am extremely disappointed. First, our server brought us some bread, which was the most unappealing I’ve ever seen. The bread was cold, and the pretzel-like item was extremely salty. And the crostini was stale and as hard as a rock, prompting me to question a passing waiter if the bread had been baked in house. Unfortunately, the response was that they were not made in-house, but were outsourced. They also failed to inform us that the bread was optional and would cost $5. But that didn’t upset me; what bothered me was the server’s reluctance to even acknowledge that there was something wrong with the bread. ar that there were something wrong with the bread. We ordered crab cakes and tuna tartare as appetizers. The crab cake was packed with crab meat, which was a plus in my book. It was a little hot, but it was balanced off by the side salad and aioli that came with it. The tuna tartare was presented with crispy onions on the bottom, guacamole, and tuna on top. The crispy onions tasted like something I’d get at Safeway to put on my salad. For my entrée, I choose the Chefs cut ribeye 33oz. The flavor was fantastic, but I ended up eating the rib cap as the ribeye itself was undercooked, raw. Because no one appeared to care about my criticisms, I brought the ribeye home to re-cook it. The sides I ordered were brussels sprouts. I wish there was some acid or honey to counteract the bitterness. The second side was the lobster mash potato. I enjoyed the flavor! My only concern is that it’s far too watery, almost soupy. We paid more over $350 in total, yet the meal was subpar. The outdoor adventure was enjoyable. I’d want to point out that the bus lady who was in charge of the table was incredibly polite, courteous, and hardworking. As a result, we felt the need to give her a separate tip. Our server probably checked on us once or twice. Probably wont be back.

Had a great dinner at Mastro’s! We were there for over three hours so it must have been good. Drinks, appetizers, entree’s and dessert. Everything was well cooked and beautifully presented.

I have to say how disappointed I was because of the service we received. I was visiting from Florida and my friend raved about this place. The food was second to none but the service was severely lacking. We had to repeatedly ask for the bread which my friend told me was “the best.” When the bread finally arrived…it was with the salad.

Excellent food paired with excellent service. We had a mild incident the first time we came last week, but one of the managers, Michael, helped us out and made it right. When we came back today, our server Carlos N. was very attentive and made my fiancée’s birthday dinner amazing. Happy to have an amazing steakhouse at Valley Fair.
