It’s not very easy to find Filipino restaurants in the area. This is a great little place with a very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. They have limited seating, but they do plenty of take-out. Choose a two entree combo or a la carte. They also make various smoothies. You can buy Filipino chips and candy as well.

This place was recommended to me by a Filipino co-worker and I finally got to try it and it was awesome.

I just came today and its my first time purchasing in this store. The food wasn’t bad, typically home cook but theres nothing special in it specially for the price. $14 for a small portion without a drink is too much coz you can go to golden corral unli food for the same price. Also, my sisig have too much calamansi thats why it’s so sour.

Every time I’m in Florida, Mata’s is a MUST! The food is amazing, very authentic, my favorite is the poncit and the desserts! The staff are very friendly and so down to earth. The best Filipino food in Florida, hands down! Can’t wait to go back.

When in the Tampa Bay area, I always make a point to stop in for some take out. Their pancit is the best I found in Florida so far. Their lumpia makes great road food for the drive home. This is a great little place, very friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere.

It is obvious we are not the only people that are dissatisfied with the quality and cost of Mata’s. I visited this restaurant in hopes of getting a simple meal and drinks. For the combo that is two small and distasteful scoops of rice and two small burnt skewers of meat that were cold. I personally would not give this meal to anyone. I am not sure why this restaurant is in business as there quality is low and their portions are small. Their price is ridiculous and their other reviews are similar. Boba was hard and not well done and the drinks are watery. On top of this, there is not very good service and the food took 30 minutes. I am extremely disappointed with Mata’s.

I visited Tampa for just a weekend a couple of weeks ago, and I have to say—this Filipino restaurant blew me away! The service and food was extraordinary, and I felt very nostalgic. For first-timers, I recommend trying the chicken adobo, pancit, or lumpia; you won’t regret it!

Found this place when searching for Filipino restaurants for my wife. We had BBQ skewers and Lechon Kawali. Was very tasty. What impressed me was the flavor of the Lechon and plus it was crunchy. Lumpia Shanghai beef with in house sauce was very impressive. Every in Tampa it’s a must stop.
