Great spot to grab dinner & drinks. I had a beer and a burger. My gf had a pizza & a mixed drink. We shared and the food tasted great. They were busy due to the fact it was a Saturday and Brett Young was in town performing at the Filmore (2 blocks away). Laid back restaurant with a great vibe. The menu has something for everyone’s taste buds. Great drink menu as well.

I came to Matchbox, post Mother’s Day. I ordered coffee and waited almost 15 mins and there was only two of one other table seated in the restaurant. After asking the manager, we finally got our coffees. We then waited almost 30 mins for our food only to get my French burnt (All American breakfast). We got no refills or topped off coffee. Not to mention I had old lipstick stain on my silverware.

Matchbox is like a modern bistro. Their pizza is amazing crust and zesty sauce are just yum. They have a great appetizer selection and recommend the onion straws. The challenge has come in the main dishes I find it to be a hit or miss. Sometimes I have had the crispy chicken and it’s a bit soggy as in no crisp other times it’s so crispy it’s dry but the first time it was perfect.

I went during lunch the other day and service was amazing. The food was great, better than some of the other locations that I tried, and the staff were very accommodating and friendly. our server, Wendy, was very attentive and funny. she and the rest of the staff made our experience much more enjoyable. Love the swanky look and feel. The decor has a warm and inviting feel as soon as you walk in. Our waiter was quite the friendly chap although a tad forgetful. We missed out on the appetizer, but no worry it wasn’t charged. Prices are steep. Caesar salad dressing tastes store bought, not in-house made with anchovies. These things matter.
