First time dining at Materia. We ended up doing 7 course tasting menu. Food was exceptional and waitstaff was even better. Very attentive and friendly. Everything was cooked perfect. Thanks for a great experience and will return for another date night.

The food and service are top notch. Our server, Justin, was incredibly warm and kind. Very knowledgeable about Italian wines too. The runners were friendly and made polite conversation. Excellent place. The only thing that rubbed me the wrong way was the blonde hostess when my husband and I walked in. She said that there is a reservation after us…I spoke up that we were only five minutes late…It’s just not really something you want to hear when you want a relaxing night out.

My wife and I had our 6 year anniversary here, and it was absolutely spectacular. The hand-crafted cuisine is all either made in-house or locally sourced. They feature a finely selected wine list with some delicious cocktails as well. The attentive service was the cherry on top. We will be back for future anniversaries!

Absolutely wonderful! The perfect place for a birthday celebration we were a group of five …we had the most delicious dinner…lovely friendly service and we were wowed by each course. When we talked about it after we couldn’t think of one course that we didn’t like….we had the whole tasting menu. All in all a huge treat and we couldn’t recommend it more highly. Thank You!!

Materia is excellent in so many ways. Chef David is a master and the food is superb. While all the dishes are excellent, unique pasta dishes are a clear standout. The service, wine list and now the decor are equally top notch. Materia is a welcome addition to the fine dining experience in Litchfield County.

Second time at Materia and both times we walked away saying, “that was a fantastic meal.” The pastas were flavorful and inventive. The striped bass was a generous portion and impeccably prepared. The dining room is warm and inviting and service was friendly and attentive.

First-rate experience. Service was unfailingly wonderful and enthusiastic. Main courses were superb, especially my friend’s grilled lobster. Lots of reasonable choices on the wine list. And the desserts were something else — panna cotta with black cherries and millefoglie with pistachio cream. If you’re anywhere near Bantam, you owe it to yourself to eat here.
