I’ve been here a handful of times and everytime has been great! I had originally gone for the aguas frescas, they’re ALL delicious. As far as food I’ve tried the carne asada fries, and most recently the green Chile chicken enchiladas and the portions were big! My daughter & I shared it and we got full on half. I would definitely recommend this place, great place to eat outside or eat on the plaza close by (for downtown location) the staff is always really great and friendly too.

I’m leaving this review in hopes that someone will listen. I’m usually a customer at the university mateos. I love your food, I eat there at least once a week. It has been about a year now since the service declined severely at your university location. I’m not kidding when I say the last 10 visits there has been something wrong with my order. If I get flautas my salsa is missing or spoiled, or the sour cream is dry from being left to sit under a heat lamp outside or something. When I get Carne asada fries I like them crispy so I always request them as such but I can’t remember the last time they listened to me. In fact last time I ordered fries your employee gave me some Carne Asada tacos. I hate that I can’t get my food made right specially for the price. I know you guys are doing well and I probably don’t matter to you but Jesus! If I had a better option in LC I would stop being your customer.

While it does cost a bit more than places outside of the Downtown bubble, here it’s very enjoyable, fresh aguas frescas (was that repetitive?), And the burritos were so good! I got the asada and added beans and rice and it was so worth the $5.99 price. I can’t wait to try the chicharrón burrito next time *drool*.

I visited Matteo’s Mexican Food on a busy Saturday and was impressed with their extensive menu of Mexican classics and refreshing agua frescas. While the prices were a bit higher than average, the quality of the food made it worth it. Although there was a 20-minute wait for a table, the atmosphere was lively and fun. The only downside was our server, who seemed mildly unenthusiastic and could have been more attentive. Overall, I would recommend Matteo’s for their delicious food and great selection of drinks.

Got the asada bowl for the first time, I will be getting it again and trying some of the others as well. This was my first time at this location. They are friendly here too! As usual the food was fresh and delicious! I love that the bowl has lettuce instead of rice, it isn’t as heavy which is perfect for lunch time. I got the strawberry mojito aguas fresca, my favorite!

We are from out of state and felt very welcomed here. Polite and proffesional. We ordered the carne asada torta as well as brisket sope. My family was very pleased. Highly recommend the brisket quesadilla with the works. Aguas are sweet. Homemade flavor with a modern vibe and trust me on this one, dip fries in salsa.
