This look like a great place to eat. The hostess and the waitress both seem like they don’t want to be here. We were not given silverware to eat at all. Nothing on the menu is less than like $15….. They burnt my chicken sandwich which is hard to do in a deep fryer. The chicken had a fish taste to it. Def need to change their oil. The walls are covered with dust…… I have never been to this chain but will not be returning to one anywhere. Boooooo. I wanted a decent meal.

Reasonably priced and good food for an airport. The service was pretty quick which made it easy to grab a decent meal before my flight.

During a recent layover at the Detroit airport, we stopped into Max & Erma’s for a very late dinner. They were clearly getting ready to close but sat us anyway. My son commented on the smell in the restaurant – I worked fast food as a teen, and it reminded me of the dirty water after you washed the floor. That should have been my first clue, lol! Our service was decent, although our server was often off cleaning or sweeping or doing tasks to close. My son ordered wings – he said they were super spicy, which he liked, and pretty good. It went downhill from there. I ordered a rare burger – showed up almost raw. It was the Bodacious Bacon. It barely had one slice of bacon on it. And again, it was raw meat. I mean, my son and I like a rare burger, but this was a little too rare for us. So, I politely sent it back, and they eventually brought a new burger. It was definitely cooked better this time….but then, the French fries were totally cold. I don’t think it was the same plate, just with a new burger, but I could be wrong. At this point, I was done. We split the burger, ate a few fries, and got our check. I told the server about the cold fries, and she was very apologetic – honestly, service and the wings are the only reason this isn’t a two star rating. Oh, and the prices – holy cow! I get that we are a captive audience in the airport, but that burger is $13.99 on their online menu but more like $19.99 at the airport. So, NOT worth it. I wish we had gone somewhere else, and this has really turned me off to Max & Erma’s in general.

Used vouchers here after a cancelled flight. Server was terrible (Deanna). I tipped what I deemed appropriate, less than I would normally tip. Server came back to table after picking up the bill and complained to me while I was gathering kids and luggage as to how my tip was so little on our bill.

Overall great place. Was fairly quiet and the service was quick and nice. Deborah took care of us and was excellent. My only complaint was the salads were mostly iceberg lettuce, which seems cheap for the price. Otherwise, everything was good.

I would eat at this place again, even if it was not in an airport. I had the garbage burger, which has bacon guacamole and a bunch of other good stuff. It was cooked and prepared perfectly. Took me less than 25 minutes from start to finish and even get enjoy some football while waiting for my flight. Just awesome

Stopped here for a quick bite in between flights. The restaurant was at medium capacity but the staff took a bit to take my order. Asked for the turkey and avocado burger and received a sad tasteless sandwich. The turkey patty tasted like it had been just recently defrosted and there were two of the saddest slivers of avocado decorating the bun. Pretty disappointing, considering the meal cost over $30. Even for an airport restaurant, this is not worth a stop.

Service was quick, food came out too quick which makes you realize they cook everything off site and reheat at the airport. Burger was flavorless and dry. I understand airport constraints and airport prices but still disappointing. Would not come here again.

I missed this place. We had one near my hometown and it was my favorite restaurant. I loved the tortilla soup and salad with the breadstick. We had a layover at DTW and got a chance to have a bowl of soup. The salad wasn’t the same and the breadstick is no more, but the soup is still delicious
