Maxwell’s Handcrafted Burgers & Shakes is a fun restaurant in downtown Frederick featuring delicious burgers from locally sourced Black Angus Beef on our house-baked buns. We use the best quality ingredients to create amazing burgers, fried chicken sandwich and vegetarian burger options as well as vibrant salads.
Our shakes are made with our own house-made soft serve ice cream. We offer a wonderful selection of organic fountain sodas in addition to beers, wines and bourbons.
Our corner location is filled with work form local artists that adds to the vibrant esthetic of our restaurant.

Stopped by on my way home with a friend. The staff was super amazing – very professional, courteous and kind. As soon as we walked in, we were attended too. We were seated, provided water and time to review the menu. Our waiters explained the menu and options. The food looked amazing! The only downside was that I asked for a medium well burger and it was all pink in the inside; very unfortunate.

I was treaded to this restaurant by my Peepz. The staff were super friendly and very patient with my group. The restrooms where clean, neat and smelled pleasant. The manager on duty (Rachael) was very pleasant to deal with and all around a cool lady. many many kudos to our waiter, thanks for the burger recommendation and the breakfast shot!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Top tier burger! Had the large maxx, it was a little bit salty but otherwise really excellent. Has this nice char to it, not sure how they cook them but they’re doing it right. Fries were alright. Service was fast, prices were reasonable.

Beet burger is awesome, give it a try. Staff is super friendly and portions are generous. The boozy milkshakes are a must try!!! Great for a quick bite or carryout. Dining room is somewhat small, but it’s always clean and welcoming!

Really, really nice place with excellent service and great burgers. Service was quick and everyone were friendly and polite. I am giving the food 4 stars because my French fries were old and cold while my wife’s FF were hot and tasty. I would recommend it for sure, but please don’t give your customers old FF.
