Sorry to say our experience wasn’t good. First of all, a little slow on taking our order. We did get our beverages fairly quick. Then after 20 minutes so we had been sitting there for half an hour. I got up and looked for anyone. Then they brought us our onion rings. They were the best that I’ve eaten in a long time. We mentioned how long we had been sitting there. Another server came to our table and mentioned that they had received a bunch of orders that needed to be picked up. Very apologetic. When are meal came. Both orders were very salty. Almost inevitable. The fries that came with them were also very good. Done in a little different way with great flavor. Our waitress did finally come in ask how are meal was. We told her when she brought the bill. The atmosphere was southern blues. It was not very enjoyable but as time went on it became better. There is many different blues bands that are great. That could use an improvement. The place seemed a little run down and could lose a facelift. Most people I had talked to said it was great food. I’m still wondering what happened to ours. They did give us a $20 gift certificate for next time. In all fairness, I will give it a shot one more time. There’s nothing like a great restaurant. I’m game. On the table. It said to make reviews. I was wondering if I was really seeing this. Little did they know. I have 1.7 million on Google. In all fairness. We will try again. I say where’s the manager ? He obviously hasn’t been watching what’s going on. Cuz it could be a fantastic place.

The most amazing BBQ and the staff are so nice and helpful. I tried to get a ribeye and they were all out, but the manager and staff hooked me up with a discounted porterhouse instead. I also got the ribs, everything was super delicious, fall off the bone mouth-watering good

In my opinion this is the best BBQ in Minnesota with southern hospitality and cooking. The cook even comes out and talks to the customer’s on how their meal was. I highly recommend them to anyone who loves BBQ. Thank you Dennis for the hospitality and amazing food.

This place was fantastic! I recently moved to the area and gave it a try…was not disappointed! I’ve had BBQ at many other places, and this one is by far the best. I thought my beans were amazing until I’ve had theirs. I loved the pulled pork and mac and cheese as well. I will certainly be going back!

Ordered right away only to wait 20 minutes to get a side salad followed by a 40 minute wait when the server returned asking if we wanted our check even though we had received NO FOOD! She could not tell us how long until our food would be ready. We left without paying for three ice teas and a side salad after an hour and fifteen with nothing to eat. Don’t waste your time here, go across the street to the Garage where you will get prompt service, delicious food, and your time and dollar is valued.

Waitress was so sweet! Made friendly conversation, attended to us often, and gave great recommendations. The food was MINDBLOWINGLY good. Good Lord, makes me wish I lived in Pine City. Will be stopping in as much as I can on my way up and down from school. 110% recommend, the atmosphere was lovely and so friendly, various workers asked us how we were doing and how the food was. We got the Platter for 2 and the pulled pork was amazing. The coleslaw was also very good, and the spicy barbecue sauce was delicious. Definitely will come again.

We got after it and tried the platter for 2. I’d like to try it again before really locking in a decision but the meats were a bit dry. The beans and coleslaw were really good, so were the tots and corn bread. The price was bad, at 20-25 dollars per person so I’d like to walk away a little more pleased. The service was very good though.

Absolutely delicious BBQ and meat counter! We have had the ribs, pulled pork sandwich, lemon bar, and breakfast sausage. Everything was delicious and exceeded our expectations. We will definitely stop again and again on our trips Up North.

I’ve had the food at Maxwell’s 3 times. The first time it was good. The brisket was tender and tasty and very enjoyable. The second time I came with my wife and we both left unsatisfied. The ribs and rib tips were extremely fatty. The brisket was dry and just not good. I figured it may have just been a bad day for the cook and I wasn’t going let this stop me from coming back. So third and last time (today) I stopped in I got some ribs again. The brisket wasn’t ready. I should of just passed. The ribs I got were extremely tough and covered in a thin BBQ sauce. They were a waste of money. I don’t know if I’ll stop in again anytime soon. I love smoked meats and always want to give my support to any BBQ restaurants in my driving range but this may be it for me.going to Maxwells. I hope you have a better experience.
