Well, I honestly cannot say enough good things about our experience there a few days ago. Absolutely love the atmosphere whoever designed this is extremely talented every single room had its own charm.. our server Riley was amazing! Super charming, extremely knowledgeable about all of the food and drinks and offered great recommendations. As far as the cocktails go. Absolutely hands down the best drinks. My husband and I have ever had anywhere ever.!!! Between the kitchen and the bar. There are some extremely talented people in charge here. Flavor everywhere!!! And the service is outstanding.!

Given all the fanfare, I was expecting to love this place. The good: I love the updated coloring, the friendly wait staff, the open kitchen, and the brussels sprout salad. The less good: there seem to be a lot of staff on hand, but you can’t get a reservation. We went in to be seated at the bar at five and we were the only ones there. The restaurant was empty. When we left at a quarter after six there were still nine tables max seated in the whole place, except there were no reservations available. The barstools were incredibly uncomfortable. One other person came in, sat down at the bar for a few minutes, and got up and moved as well. The hostess was able to give us a table easily, despite no reservations. Tried their twist on the old-fashioned, it was OK. Given that they specialize in bourbon, I did expect the bourbon to shine, but there wasn’t a whole lot else to be tasted The menu is small, while I loved my salad, the vegetable noodles was…just ok. It is a pork heavy restaurant, so maybe the ticket is ordering one of those dishes. People nearby were seated at these whimsical benches, the kind you see in a park that wrap around a tree. They were fun looking, but I gather they found them quite uncomfortable. Lastly, a purse hook under the bar seems like a pretty common place thing anywhere are you actually expect women to sit?

Run. Don’t walk. Maypole is the best thing that’s landed in Wheaton since Common Good came to Glen Ellyn. Everything is spot on. What a beautiful creation. And the service is impeccable.

Update: owner response says there’s a ramp in the back, and rolling out new kid play space. Also changing tables were added. Can’t wait to come back and see the new additions!

Such an awesome spot for brunch. We sat outside and the vibes are great. The food was delicious and the perfect portion sizes. I had the ube pancakes and they were sweet without being too sweet.

So I am surprised but I actually didn’t love my old fashioned here and that is a big deal for me. With all the hype I thought there might be a better drink and it was $16. The staff is super friendly and attentive. But also at the bar the stools are super uncomfortable and there are no purse hooks. No hard feelings but those are nice to have.

I hope to change to this to all 5 stars sometime soon, but there are still some growing pains here, I think. The menu seems limited. I think they’d do well to offer more than 2 appetizer options. Most of the food we had was good. The Lumpia was very good. The Caesar Salad with pork belly was amazing. The garlic rice was way too garlicky, though.

The food taste and quality was actually better than expected. The atmosphere and overall aesthetics were really nice. Our server did a fantastic job explaining the menu, asking for dietary restrictions, and her attentiveness. Easily could have been a 5-star experience. The reason for the 3 star however is because the food portions for the price along with the amount we received in our drinks was really disappointing. For the price of the drinks we were very disappointed. While the drinks looked really appealing, getting 3-4 oz in a glass was very detracting from our experience. The same frustration came from the food. I have no issue with the actual quality/taste of the food, but given the prices, we were unpleasantly surprised with the amount on our plates. Given both of these realities, we actually ended up going to another place for drinks afterward and actually had to get some appetizers there because we were still hungry…….
