The outdoor patio for El Maza is so lovely on a summer evening and the staff is exceedingly friendly. It feels like a neighborhood stop, but it’s a hidden oasis and the food is out of this world. The fish tacos are seriously some of the best I’ve had in the South Bay. Period. We also had the Pescado and the mango and shrimp tostada’s. I liked both, but the mango and shrimp one has me drooling for more. The Margarita was good too! We’ll be back soon!

The food is outstanding, and the customer service is excellent, with staff who go above and beyond to make your experience memorable. The place is really cute and the service is amazing. Food is a little bit overpriced for the portions you get, I ordered ceviche mixto, which should have octopus and shrimp, barely any octopus, and there were more onions and tomatoes that actual shrimp or octopus. Other places like the one down the street don’t charge you if you ask for extra chips.

Tasted the Molcajete de marisco. Mixed seafood. Mixed results. Fish both fried and not were well cooked, tender and flavorful. The clam and muscle were chewy, still tasteful. Grilled whole shrimp were excellent, while the smaller shrimp weren’t. Broccoli had lots of flavor while the squash didn’t. I’ll try something different next time.
