Ripped off! I have been to Mazatleco a number of times over the years and the food has always been authentic and good. I took a client for lunch the other day and ordered two of the Tacos De Pastor plate which was $10.69 on the menu per plate along with two drinks. 4 tacos, beans and rice. When the bill arrived, the cashier tried to charge me a ridiculous price a la carte, and when I showed her the menu she pretended not to speak any English and did refused to correct the bill. This place has turned terrible and don’t go here. See my attached receipt for two taco plates.

Been going to this location for years when it was tacos y salsas. That’s why I decided to try this place. Same owner different name and menu. It was horrible. I asked for asada smothered burrito and i have no idea what meat it was but it wasn’t no asada. Asked the same for tacos and it was completely different meat as well. My kids like the fish tacos but paid 10.50 for 3. The rice has chili and bacon in it . The beans i didn’t even try as they have added things to. The smothered chili for the burrito was like a bbq something was gross. I will never return here nor do I recommend. Spent 52 dollars on food which halfway never eaten. The horchata was gross watery and ricey. Never had worse food.

El Mazatleco is a great mouthwatering seafood restaurant, My husband ordered Torre Sinaloa which is basically a huge tower of delicious seafood that greatly serves two people if not three. I recommend el Cerrito roll with fried shrimp! A special thank you to our waitress who absolutely made sure we had all that we needed and her friendly personality made our visit super pleasant. During the current situation with Covid, my family and I certainly felt safe and comfortable eating here. The place was certainly busy on a Saturday evening, with everyone sitting at a safe distance and wearing masks. There was live music. I don’t know the name of the group but they sounded really good!! This is a 10/10 experience as well as their food quality-taste.

Had the Mojarra frita(fried fish), a smothered burrito. The fish was nice a crunchy on the outside, and tender inside. The burrito was asada, and also very good. I’m happy that this restaurant is here a short walk from my house.

I recently went to this restaurant only because los mangos wasn’t serving any food. So me and my family decided to give it a try since it was right next door. The atmosphere was good. We sat down and they brought us chips while we wait. They definitely took a while to bring us our food. People who got there before us got there food first. When they finally brought our food over we were not happy. The plate I ordered was the asada plate the beans tasted burnt and gross. The rice had no flavor at all and was not good. The asada was thin, dry and no flavor at all. I left mostly everything on my plate. My dad ordered the 7 mares and only found 2 shrimps and 2 oysters after that it was pure caldo. I have never been to a restaurant where all the food was so gross. Never ever again going there. Waste of my money. I wouldn’t recommend to any one I know.

So being from a state where there is not alot of authentic mexican restaurants this place was definitely different. The asada tacos were so good but they were served with fries and white rice . My son got the quesadilla and the side for that was salad but it was tasty! My older son got the 7mares, flavor was more like a chicken noodle broth but he loved it. My husband got the shrimp cocktail and he said it was delicious. My rating is for the service, the table was dirty and sticky and the water was warm. The server didnt speak English at all but she was friendly.
