This McDonald’s is prominently visible from Interstate 80, but is somewhat of an inconvenience to actually visit. It requires turning on Eagle Ridge Road off of Highway 67 and then driving a ways up the hill. Having just eaten at the nearby Bierstube and desiring some ice cream (or the close analog that McDonald’s serves) I was willing to undertake the mini Odyssey across the highway and up the incline to visit.

Food tastes weird. Service was wack. An not to mention both food makers had coffee drinks in the grill area. Worker was grabbing food out the trays with his hands an taking a drink. This trendy McDonalds is attached to a local gas station and has a wonderful outdoor patio with picnic tables to sit with family while overlooking the mighty Mississippi River! I really thought that the food would be as unique and creative as the location, BUT my large caramel frappe was terrible. The drink had too much of a coffee taste. For the view, I will go back anytime. I do not plan to go back for the food.

Really disappointed about not getting a straw. I don’t think they realize how hazardous it is to tip your head way back for a drink when the cup is less than half full while driving. With a straw, I can keep my eyes on the road at all times. McDonald’s was once sued for an accident involving hot coffee. Maybe the strawless cup will be the next class action event. Only time will tell.
