Went in with my buddy Jesse on Sunday. Overall the service was good, it’s nice and clean and I appreciate the automatic doors to let me in. The reason for the 4 stars is that I couldn’t use rewards when I was there, it’s half the size of Elk Vale and I’m sorry but why can’t I refill my own drink in the store? That huge wall has enough space for it. Otherwise a great looking store that will do great in the Box.

The newest, most modern one I’ve ever seen and I’m a fan! Great service and as expected quality. Would recommend!

I want to give a five star review because the majority of the workers are wonderful friendly people, but I can’t. Most of the time they get the order right, but too many times the food is not as hot as other times for the exact food. Sure, I could call and complain or go back, but I should not have to. My food should always be real hot. (Not just sometimes.) Another problem is not getting napkins with every order. Too many times I get none. Safety is my biggest concern in regards to the parking lot, which was poorly designed. The flow is not conducive and I fear not only is this going to be the cause of a car accident, but worse a pedestrian accident. I honestly predict one or more of the store workers bringing food to curbside patrons is going to pay the price. It is not safe when you have drive up cars moving, cars trying to get to the drive through with cars waiting for orders in front of the building and curbside pick up trying to pull into or out of spots. Your workers are in jeopardy every time they go out there. I just don’t understand why you didn’t design the curbside pick up to be next to the building like all of the other McDonald stores in the Rapid City area, so the workers do not have to cross traffic to deliver food to patrons.

Going to a McDonald’s used to be fun, now it’s like visiting a scene from a Star Trek movie. Cold and impersonal. I kept imagining at night how the ceiling would just have sprayers come on and sanitize everything at once. Besides the fact they are trying to go all automated with little human contact at all. What’s next robots?

Garbage service, long waits, wrong food, I could go on. (REPLY)I’m not interested, sir! The last and final time I went there. Pulled up to the window. Only one there, and they have me pull up and wait. A few folks show up. They got their food as I waited 20 minutes. By this time there are three of us and we all decide to go inside. Manager with the usual short staffed and new employees nonsense. Wait 15 more minutes while they remake the food just to have some random that was not part of the original three comes in with my original order from the drive thru. So they gave it to someone else in the drive thru and then made it again and handed me both and said sorry. Cool I got extra food but it still does not make up for bad leadership and training. Remember a good leader always own his or her mistakes and is accountable for his or her employees actions also. Box elder McDonald’s short comings fall on you and you alone.

I’m joining the bandwagon talking about the parking/drive thru setup, as it is prone to knitting since lobby has to cut off drive thru goers to get to the front door. The inside is fresh, but some of the kiosks may/may not work, leaving your order in the cloud. There are 15 tables in here, so its not too bad, but that can get crowded quick. Thankfully, the food is still as good as ever, even if it isn’t making any service speed records.

The food was very fresh and hot, I dont ear at McDonald’s alot unless I am having a Mac attack! Last few times have been the best ever for some reason. I think the way the dining room is set up is very ugly and so dull, I worked at McDonald’s in the 80s and it was so different with the warm colors in the dining room and registers, old school was way better, new layout is so lame, jus sayin.

We came to the counter and an employee told us we had to use the kiosk. We told him we don’t work for McDonalds so we wanted to make our order thru the counter. He told us we would have a long wait. They get paid up to $17 an hour for the customer to do their job.

The night manager sounded like a real D-bag. I forgot to order something and the nice guy up front said he would need the manager to fix the system if I was using the same card, so I desperately pull out my cash to avoid being confronted by the guy who basically said “oh well” that my mobile order was canceled somehow. Luckily the front staff guy was super nice and even entertained my little while he was working on cleaning the dining area. I would give him 5 stars personally if I could, his name was Chris. Probably will just turn around and go somewhere else if I stop in and Chris isn’t working. That night manager sounded like a real jerk.

Mcdonalds is Mcdonalds, but I just watched one of their employees, brownish hair wearing a gray Mcdonalds polo on Monday June 26, 2023 approximately 5:30 pm, use the restroom and NOT WASH HIS HANDS. Disgusting. And he was in the stall, not the urinal. Where are your standards? You are serving food to people. If I lived around here I would happily point him out. Your store should absolutely be ashamed of yourselves for having those types of standards.
