I lived down the street from this McDonalds for 4 years in Downers Grove. I moved to Nebraska last year and I come back for business quarterly and stay in Downers Grove. This is owned and operated by the Schmitt family and it’s absolutely a gem. The people that serve the drive through are always happy, courteous and get everything right. When they say “have a good day” I really believe they mean it. Also, their attrition rate must be seriously low, meaning that there are good leaders in place or the family that owns that franchise is heavily involved. Literally, I came here this morning and the people that served me through the drive through were the same people that served me the past few years and I haven’t been back in a year. One individual remembered me and said “how was the move? You don’t bother us anymore for coffee and breakfast burritos?”

After years of not coming in, I got to sit inside. It’s clean and bright inside, the food was as expected. However, the soda machine is inside the kitchen away from people’s reach. Now, I get maybe they don’t want people touching it, but why is the kitchen and the soda machine completely hidden from the public? I can’t tell if they tampered with my drink when I asked for a refill. It seems a little fishy.

Wow! What a turn around. I swore never to go back to this location but it’s close and my daughter wanted to go to the play place. Its not that the people before were bad just bad at their job. Now the service is fast, tables are spotless and the play place doesn’t smell terrible anymore! Not sure how they did it so fast but I’ll be back now that they’ve got it together.
