Wine Harken Barrel Fermented Chardonnay
Begins with a very pleasant aroma of apple, pear, baking spice and buttered toast. In the mouth this makes for a surprisingly tasty combo. It’s not overwhelmingly buttery or toasty it’s just overwhelmingly good. The wine is loaded with fruit (apple and pear mostly) but just slightly sweet. You’ll also find lemon custard, more baking spice and butter and light oaky notes along with good acidity in this medium to full-bodied wine. It ends dry, long and a bit toasty with lingering fruit and oak notes.

I got the lentil patty over quinoa and it was delicious. Food portions were huge. I appreciate the fact that it’s 100% gluten free since it’s medically necessary for me to eat that way. With that said the food did take a little long to come out so go there with plenty of time. People were very friendly. A recommendation would be to list the prices on the menu because I did feel it was a tad pricey.

Ugh.. I had such high hopes for this place since I am allergic to gluten. We got there about 15 minutes after they opened and the door was locked.. we waited outside for a little and someone unlocked the door. We received no greeting at all when we walked in. It was our first time and had no clue how it worked but kinda figured it out ourselves. The staff barely spoke to us but talked to each other the entire time while on their phones and such. That’s no problem, but at least provide good customer service. The food was decent, I could make it at home. The sandwiches come with no sides which I thought was weird considering the prices.. this place won’t last unfortunately. The prices are too high and they lack customer service. Such a shame. It definitely has potential. We won’t be back.

I was hot, tired, and ready for a relaxing lunch. I walked in to see a very large blackboard describing all of the items but there were no prices listed. I asked to see a menu with prices but was told I’d need to go online for that. I could easily do that but it annoyed me so much that their pricing wasn’t transparent that I left. Thankfully, just a few doors down is Beach Diner. I had an excellent salad there.

I’m going to be honest, it’s been a while since I’ve been here and I just ordered 2 salads. One had chicken on it and the other had no meat at all. Just veggies, quinoa and some fruit which was great. No beverage other than water. It was $40 for 2 salads! The food is very good, but not for that price. I was also turned off by the suggestion of a 22% tip for a place that is counter service and not a full service restaurant. I like it, but it’s extremely over priced.

While the food was good, the hostess was absolutely rude for no reason. Food took 30 minutes to come out when barely anyone was in the restaurant. After asking how much longer the food would take because I was feeling nauseous, she said they were super busy. Once bringing our food out, she slammed our food on the table and walked away. This same girl was on her phone almost the whole time despite being “busy.”

This place is 100 percent gluten free. They are also known for their vegan dishes. Chuck and Bob were amazing chefs and very personable. I got the Chicken Hommus Bowl and the flavors would bring any foodie to heaven. The first bite of your meal , I can guarantee you will be sold on McFlamingo. The dishes are large and enough to take home for a late night snack. If your in the area , stop here and treat yourself!
