Great place. Highly recommend. Reserve a table online e to ensure you get a table. My table had the chicken and waffles…the chicken marsala…the seafood gumbo and the pasta dish. NOTHING was disappointing! Great place for a special date night or just stopping by for a drink! The night I went was live music. Amelia Blank was awesome. Go look her up. Amazing night!

McGarity’s will be noted as one of my least favorite restaurants I have visited. The only food order that was decent was the Irish Nachos. The Country Fried Steaks was tough, had no flavor, had too much batter and looked burnt. The presentation of the plate was pretty pathetic. The chicken salad was runny. I have never tasted chicken salad like it before. I order chicken salad very often as it is one of my favorite items on a menu. Thumbs down on the onion rings. They were cold and tasted old. The service and atmosphere were good.

Located just off the main street in historic Jefferson, the place looks sort of quaint on the inside. Food is above average for the price.

We visited Jefferson last summer and we enjoyed McGarity’s! It was such a cute spot with the best vibe! Not a huge place so seating is limited but we came around 6 so it was less busy. By 8pm it was crowded and there was a line! We ordered the Irish bangers and shepherd pie! Really authentic but would’ve wished the portions were bigger!

We were traveling and looking for a good Irish St Patrick’s day meal so we hit McGaritys. I’m Irish so I compare any Irish meal to my grandmothers st Patty’s meal therefore not fair to a restaurant trying to feed many. But corned beef was tough not fall apart tender. My companions had ribeye steak (delicious!) And French dip (different than we were used to but still delicious-not sliced beef but Chopped).

For appetizers, we had the spinach/artichoke dip, and my husband had the quail (medallions, I think, was the name of it). Very good! My food was excellent, I had the strawberry salad with grilled chicken and vinaigrette dressing on the side. It’s a huge salad (I brought half of it home with me). One warning though, I think they pick the jalapeños out of the devil’s garden! Those were the HOTTEST jalapeños I’ve ever tasted! I ended up taking them off the plate, they were just way too hot for me. (I love that they didn’t mix the salad ingredients altogether!) Other than that, the salad was perfect! My husband ordered the Irish dinner with sausage and cabbage, can’t remember the name of it. He said the sausage was great, but he wasn’t very impressed with the cabbage. Their cheesecake is amazing! We had a great waitress, very friendly. We will definitely eat there again!

Really enjoyed dinner. My wife and I were visiting Jefferson, and she made reservations for tonight. Unfortunately, she wasn’t feeling like going out. I went solo, and sat at the bar to free up our table. They were packed, likely due to it being Friday. But it could have been because extra folks were coming to see the live music act. The lady was strumming a guitar and singing oldies (mostly ’70’s stuff) and doing a great job, too. Awesome food, good beer, attentive service.

We went twice in the same day. The food was great!!! Service at lunch was excellent. Never had to ask for refills and she kept checking on us. However the dinner service was horrible. There were only 2 couples in the restaurant and a couple outside. We had to ask for everything and it seemed she was bothered by any request like a soda or drink other than water. The lunch server received a substantial tip and the evening server didn’t.
