Excellent brisket and ribs. Outstanding collard greens. Good ranch potatoes. No inside dining or restrooms. Outside covered patio with 3-4 picnic tables. Sunday is Soul Food Sunday with oxtail and pigs feet added to menu. We arrived just after noon on Sunday and had to wait in line to order them wait about 20 minutes for our food. Good food at fair price

I had to come here and leave a positive review of my recent visit to Best thing smoking bbq. This was the best bbq that I have tasted in years. I have tried almost every famous Bbq spots in Houston, and wasn’t satisfied with the quality of food. I would drive all the way from Houston, to Navasota when I am craving good BBQ. I usually doesn’t leave reviews but I had to come here and compliment the food and service. My kids are very judgemental about food and my daughter is very picky but, she ate all of her sliced beef sandwich and half of mines.

I always get the brisket plate with either ranch potatoes or potato salad and baked beans. Brisket is always smoked to perfection, tender and flavorful. They have many other specialties and really know what they are doing.

I’ve been to man BBQ joints and this is absolutely in my top 5 best. My only complaint is not with the food, but that’s it’s only outdoor seating and files were bad. But do not let that detract you from stopping in.

Mr. Mark McGinty catered our Easter Sunday Family Reunion lunch and all was so delicious! We had brisket, chicken & sausage plus baked beans, potatoes salad, & macaroni & cheese. We received compliments on everything from our families in attendance. I strongly suggest Mark McGinty Best Thing Smoking for any of your catering needs or just stop by his place for a good plate of his delicious mouth watering tender – no knife needed – brisket, juicy chicken and great sausage. The macaroni & cheese was so good (even cold)! Mr. McGinty you were a joy to work with & we’ll certainly consider you for any future events. Food is always fresh and Mark and his crew of family are great cooks. And they always put a different spin on the usual BBQ items. Such as stuff potatoes with the skins off and the insides all soft and gooey already. One menu I have to recommend is the ” BRISKET CHEESEBURGER” I always thought, “Why do you need Brisket on a Cheeseburger?” But I gotta tell you it was the “Best Cheeseburger” I ever had!” You gotta try it. And share with a friend cuz it’s definitely enough for two.
