The Meat Candy BBQ has some of the best food around! Me and my family tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago and we have been following them ever since! Of course everything they have is amazing but they’re pulled pork sandwiches are absolutely amazing! Not to mention their house made barbecue sauce and their Pensacola White Sauce that is to die for! Great customer service and even better BBQ! 5 stars!

Looking for BBQ in the Pensacola area? You have to try The Meat Candy! Portions are incredible, sides are wonderful, and the BBQ is the best I have found in the panhandle. They offer Chicken, brisket, pulled pork, ribs, and pork belly burnt ends! Sides are bacon Mac and cheese, slaw (that is wonderful and unlike anything I have ever had), and baked beans! Meat Candy BBQ is an awesome food truck. I have had the brisket, ribs, and pulled pork – all were awesome. Being from Kansas City, I kinda consider myself a BBQ snob and didn’t have high hopes for this little food truck. Man, was I wrong! Great food, great service and great conversation. Absolutely worth tracking them down stalker style and trying EVERYTHING on the menu!

Glad I decided to try the Meat Candy BBQ food truck when it was parked at Gary’s Biergarten this weekend. Owner was manning the truck and my friend and I got to chat with him a bit about his food and cooking techniques. It’s always delightful to speak with someone who enjoys their work and making good food so much. We tried the pulled pork, pork belly, and brisket, with two sides – Cole slaw and bacon Mac and cheese. The owner was also kind enough to give us tastes of the chicken thigh, ribs, and baked beans. I did not try the pulled pork, as pulled pork is just something I dont enjoy, but my friend said it was well cooked and tasted good but he wanted a little more spice to it. The ribs were just delightful and perfect for both of us, really tender and good flavor. The chicken thigh was amazing, tender and not dry at all. I also loved the pork belly, the meat was well cooked and the bourbon glaze was not overbearing. The brisket was my personal favorite, it’s SO hard to find brisket that isnt dried out and depressing. This had great spice and was juicy. I’d definitely order bulk sizes of any of these meats to enjoy at home or to take to a party. Really great. The Cole slaw was a favorite of mine, it has cilantro and a good kick from some cayenne and spices but it still light and fresh and a good foil to the rich meats. My friend said that the baked beans were good and well cooked, I did not get to taste those due to allergies. The bacon Mac and cheese was a good standard side and made well. I’d make an effort to go here again, I dont live in town anymore, but it’s now on my list of things worth driving over to Pensacola/Gulf Breeze for. All in all a great discovery, thanks again to the owner for the hospitality!

Had them cater a lunch for a Gulf Breeze Chamber event and was able to feed everyone who attended as well as the hotel staff and our employees at Express Oil Change. Very affordable as well as delicious pulled pork, chicken, coleslaw and Mac and cheese. Everyone left full and happy.

Very friendly owner. We got the brisket and the pulled chicken and the loaded Mac and cheese. Overall was a decent experience, but the Mac definitely needs more flavor and the coleslaw might have benefitted from being a little less “busy”. Too many conflicting tastes (cilantro, BBQ spice etc.). The white sauce was great, but the meat itself was also lacking a distinct flavor. We would go back potentially with some improvements, but the flavoring does need a little work. And we also noticed the brisket needed to be cut differently, the cut made it tougher than it needed to be.

Purchased the 1 meat 2 sides plate, plenty of food for 2 for only $14. Bacon Mac and cheese was very good, BBQ beans equally tasty with just a hint of BBQ Sauce. Burnt ends were spot on and plentiful. Real nice fella serving even offered samples to help us decide. Definitely worth revisiting.
