Middle Eastern restaurants inside the secure area of an airport were almost unheard of until fairly recently. Airport food, by definition, is less than great and the Mesiterranean Grill is no different. The falafel was dry and overfried, the shawarma looked and tasted as if prepared earlier then microwaved, and the vegetables in the salad most likely would not be served at a restaurant outside the airport. The long bar is where things are at. Good selection of drinks and a pleasant atmosphere.

As far as airport food goes, I was happy. Ordered a burger that came out cooked perfectly. Service was attentive, and my companions were very happy with their salads.

Disgusting! Don’t call it a chicken shawarma if you serve fatty dark chicken pieces on a pita with garlic & no toppings. You forgot the pickles! Total regret wasting $18 on 2 bites.

I didn’t check reviews first, and if I would’ve I probably wouldn’t ave gone here. But I thought the food was pretty good and the staff was friendly and nice. I got the chicken shawarma with fries and both were great! Plus they made my order in about 4 minutes which was a plus because I was running late. 😉

Ugh. The food and service (from the Carry Out side) were absolutely terrible. I was looking for a good vegetarian option (which was hard to find in the Detroit airport), so I tried the falafel sandwich. It was disgusting. It had clearly been made hours before. The pickles on it (why would you put pickles on a falafel sandwich???) had soaked into everything. Overall, it just tasted terrible, and I threw part of it away which I almost never do. The service was terrible too. As the worker handed me my food, she was looking away from me and talking to her co-worker about some gossip. My boyfriend had a burger from there and said it tasted terrible too.

Had late lunch yesterday, a welcome relief in the midst of 3 flights and 4 airports. Good food, good variety, including healthy options. Helpful, fun and pleasant staff in a place that was crowded beyond capacity for my entire hour+ there. Great beer selection for an airport place, too, both bottled and draft. Let’s face it, airport restaurants and food leave a lot to be desired, but this place is well above the average and I’m thankful! Will go back again.

Had the Falafel wrap to-go and was extremely disappointed at the quality of the ingredients. Quantity wise, the price felt like I was getting robbed (I would have made an exception to the price had the wrap tasted better) Couldn’t go and return the half eaten wrap because I was already in the air.

Had the best fries and falafel sandwich I have ever had. Best food at the airport!

The service is friendly and reasonably quick. The food is barely edible. It seemed like it was prepped the day before being served to us. The Greek salad was wilted and brown. The falafel had impenetrable crusts and were dry enough to asphyxiate.

Wish there were negative stars, ordered my food and took 25 minutes to get it, the manager Vicky kept leaving and the cashier had to keep calling her to come back to assist with register voids. Customers were leaving without the food they paid for because the wait was so long after ordering and the had to get to flights. NO REFUNDS HERE VICKIES NOT AVAILABE. When the cashier pointed out that some people had left without there food she said we can still use them and served them to other customers. Finally after getting my food ( 25 minutes) no silverware was provided and eating my scrambled eggs with my fingers and the order was not complete ( missing the toast that was ordered and got bacon when I ordered sausage )definitely not worth pointing the error out, and saw another customer also eating scrambled eggs with there fingers guess thats how there served there. Don’t waste you time or money at this establishment.
