So funny story… My husband, brother in law and myself were on a bit of a road trip on the way to NC to visit some family. There’s one restaurant they just didn’t want to stop in so we found another called Grandpappy’s and attempted to go there. Google said they were open but when we pulled in, they were closed with a sign on the door that said, “no help.” So we started our search and my brother in law goes, hey There’s a place called Meemaws. After we all laughed for a hot minute saying forget Grandpappys were going to Meemaws. When I tell you this was by far the BEST spot, it really is. The big Ole white board had three specials on it, one being Stuffed French Toast with raspberries and whipped cream, country fried steak and fried tenderloins. We ordered all three, didn’t take long at all for it to come out and man oh man was everything delicious. Normally my husband and brother inlaw inhale their food and have to wait at least 20 to 30 minutes for me to finish eating… But I beat both of them, that stuffed French toast was out of this world I couldn’t help it. So that being said, be you local or just passing through, it may look small and hidden but I promise you it is worth it. Support your local and small business!!! We will definitely be back next time we’re either passing through or if I can convince them to make a special trip.

If you can nail down there schedule, the hours change all the time. Food isn’t bad. Nothing really special I guess. Breakfast gravy is a bit like chicken gravy not sausage or peppered. But overall not bad food an its convenient. Just wish they had set hours.

This is absolutely the best country diner I have EVER been to! If your driving down 220 through Rocky Mount, it’s well worth the short detour to get there. Beth, the owner and server was delightful and her family kept the cleanest kitchen Gordan Ramsey would be proud of! Fantastic sweet tea and wonderful southern dishes wrapped up with the best service ever makes this place the go to for country dining.

Went in on day 3 of new ownership, and honestly it was a good breakfast. Had two servers that I saw (one of them is an owner I believe) who are friendly and helpful. Ordered the pancake breakfast platter which came with eggs and one meat. Pancakes were delicious! I will certainly be back.

My BLT was refrigerator cold and the bacon was so hard I couldn’t eat it. I had a hard time getting the waitress to refill my drink because she was too busy gossiping about people, and complaining about another business that was starting up in the area that was going to be serving food, and bragging on herself as if she were loved by all her customers. I couldn’t pay the bill that was way too high for what we got, fast enough to get out of there to suit me. I will not waste my time or money going back there unless it changes management (again). And I would definitely not recommend Mee Maw’s to anyone.

The food is so good and it looks just as good when it comes out. If you haven’t ate here yet your missing out. You have to make sure if your close by to try their food. Very friendly staff and very fast service.
