Surprised by the negative reviews. This is an excellent Mellow Mushroom. The pizza was great (I had the Mega-veggie), and the service was immediate, friendly, and excellent- I’m pretty sure my cup never got more than half empty. In addition, the rest of my party was really pleased with the food, service and atmosphere.

My wife and I have been to this place three times, and every time we went it was unpleasant. The first time, no one even bothered to talk to us; we stood inside the front door for perhaps five to ten minutes and it was not busy… we left without eating. The second time was ok, but the pizza was kind of gross and undercooked. The third time our waitress was lazy and slow and her attitude was not the best. If you’re going to be a crappy server, at least be nice. Took her like ten minutes to get me a beer; again, not busy at the time, we were there at like 1-2pm. The pizza was at least good this third time.

Visited the Blankenbaker locations this past Saturday for lunch. The place was pretty empty, no wait at all. Our waitress was nice but very slow. We arrived at a little after one and did not receive our food until a little before 3. We had a ball game to get to at 330 so my son had to change in the bathroom and only had about 10 minutes to eat while waiting on our check and to go boxes. The waitress informed me that the wait was due to the pizza taking 30 minutes to cook. The pizza we ordered was ok. Not nearly as good as other pizza’s I have had in the $20 price range. I would recommend going to domino’s for better pizza.

Excellent pizzas and a solid tap list. The service at this location is a bit dull to be honest. I docked one star purely because many of the employees seemed more interested in carrying on their own conversations than making sure we were pleased. Food was great, vibe not as good as the Mellow Mushroom in St. Matthews, but a great option for our area here on Blankenbaker.

Initially, I was excited that Mellow Mushroom was opening a Louisville location. I had been to the Lexington location and absolutely loved it. The first time I dined there, every aspect was excellent. The young lady that served us did a fantastic job and was kind person, pizza was great, and out order was correct. We went back less than a week later in the daytime, and our server got our order wrong, then accused me of ordering incorrectly. We had to send our pizza back, and our server seemed rather disgruntled. The third time I went was the worst. It was a Friday night, and our server was absurdly rude. He questioned my beer choice, as if to ask, “Can you handle this beer?” which was really annoying, because the beer was delicious. We ordered our pizza, asked him to hold the sun dried tomatoes. We get the pizza and it has them on there anyways, we didn’t want to make a fuss so we ate it anyways. When I received my bill, he charged me extra for sun dried tomatoes that already came on the pizza anyways. We were finishing our meal and their hours said they were open for another hour, so we were finishing up our beers and talking, and the other staff members began stacking chairs at the tables around us and rudely slamming the chairs on the table to make us feel as unwelcome as possible. This pattern seems to occur all to often when a new restaurant opens in Louisville, EVERYTHING just starts going downhill. So, in conclusion, I will never return to a place that has management that cannot hire servers who are polite and competent. Don’t waste your time, just go to Papalino’s or something.

I have ordered Mellow Mushroom pizza as carry out in the past. The pizza is very good so I thought about dining in at the location on Blankenbaker. Honestly, the slowest service I have ever experienced at any restaurant I have ever visited. It took an hour and 45 minutes to get our pizza. I think the pizza is a definite try but don’t eat in the restaurant unless you want to wait for a couple hours for your food.

Took my girl friend for lunch. We shared a appetizer, and a small pizza. We ordered the Vegetable pizza, and it was supposed to have artichokes on it. My girlfriend loves artichokes so i asked for it to have extra. The appetizer came out pretty fast, however the pizza took what seemed like an hour. We were so hungry, and ready to go by then that we ate quickly. I needed to be back at work at the moment the pizza came. It was pretty good, however it did not have any artichokes on it. I spoke with the waitress about it and all she could do she said was take off the charge for the extra artichokes. The lunch with two cokes cost over 30 dollars. Ridiculous! We wont be back.

The service is always excellent and prompt however the kitchen does not know their pizza ingredients, we ordered the Mediterranean pizza, it is suppose to have roasted red peppers and we ended up with roasted red tomatoes which we do not like and they were full of tomato seeds. They were super chewy and really gross. I hope there kitchen learns the menu soon. 2 small pizzas (8 pcs total), 10 wings, 2 iced teas and tip 52.00 is a little steep.

Poor service and food quality is a good way to describe this mellow mushroom. We came in for a late lunch and you would have thought we had ruined the staff’s smoke break. You could have said our waiter (Sean) had taken the stoned theme too literally by the way he was acting. Trying to convince us to leave because it would be 25 minutes for food, not putting in my order, mixing all our drink orders and finally taking forever to get our checks in the end. Steer clear of this location as they truly haven’t figured out how to mix a fun environment with a good eating experience.
