Had the half rack of baby back ribs. The meat tasted well, the portion was pretty big, the sauce was pretty much like it is everywhere else, and they fell off the bone without effort (maybe a bit too much). The only thing I didn’t enjoy was that there were a few small bits of meat that were tough (like plastic). I thought it was small bone pieces at first but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t. The service experience was good in my visit.

I ordered their chili, which is apparently award-winning, and found it to be overpoweringly savory. The steak and cheese was fine, although it would be better with some mayonnaise (which I requested and didn’t receive). The fries were soggy. My wife had some sort of chicken tender salad, which she enjoyed. My daughter had the Monday special soft tacos, which I tried a bite of–they tasted fresh, but generally bland. The service was friendly, though slow. All in all, it was “okay” across the board.

We stopped in Memories Charcoal House for my sister in laws birthday dinner. This establishment is located in Mt. Airy in a shopping center with many stores and parking spaces around. The layout of this restaurant has a expansive bar area with many TVs and bartop seating, a dining area, and a large outdoor area that has string lights hanging overhead. The menu contains typical food that you would see at many pub style restaurants, but is unique as many of the meats come from Wagner’s meat locker which is an excellent local butcher shop. I ordered the cheesesteak which contained Ribeye steak from Wagner’s, however it did not meet my expectations and was just okay. The fried onions were still raw and the steak was sticking together making it difficult to eat. Everyone else in the party had good experiences with their orders which including the crab cake sandwich and rib dishes. Overall we had a good experience and if you are looking for a good local spot in Mount Airy for a dining/pub style experience, Memories Charcoal House is a good choice. Many people appeared to be enjoying watching the games and drinking in the bar area.

Ordered a burger and fries (x2). After 40 minutes of waiting and no one checking in, I had to ask for my server. We decided to leave after waiting a ridiculous amount of time. Also, we ordered something as an app that never came out. Drinks were never refilled. Limited gluten-free options and server not very knowledgeable about allergens. Would not return. Wasted over an hour of my time.

Local favorite, good beer selection and fantastic food. Lots of the meat is locally sourced from Wagners Meat Locker, and even the salads are fresh with delicious house-made dressings (pictured the salmon asparagus salad and spinach power salad). Favorites are the wings, steak and cheese, crab dip, burgers..ok apparently it’s pretty hard to go wrong..

Always a little nervous when the menu doesn’t have prices! It turned out to very reasonably priced however and the portions were very generous. I had the seafood mac and cheese and it was very good. The entire staff was friendly and attentive. Altogether a pleasant experience. Will definitely go again!
