Great stop on our drive down CA1 for lunch. This was a rare find or just luck as your options for really good food are limited. Simple but tasted great with a glass of wine and view of ocean. Nice little patio with beautiful landscaping. Mendocino is a nice little artsi town to visit as well.

We arrived in Mendocino on July 3. It was very busy because they had a parade and some kind of fair. What restaurants were open were packed. We saw the Mendocino Cafe and thought we would give it a try. There was a pretty good sized line when we arrived. Surprisingly, we were seated in about 10 minutes. It took a little while to get our food, but as busy as they were, it was understandable. The staff was doing the best they could. We ordered a cheesesteak, steak and brie sandwich, and salsa Verde burrito The food was incredible! One of the best cheesesteak I have ever had! We sat outside because that’s where there was room and it was a little bit chilly. I am not sure if that is typical, but if you go you may want to bring a jacket. I highly recommend this restaurant!

If you’re visiting Mendocino like we were, this cafe is a great spot to stop for lunch. We loved our food and really appreciated the attentive service. We were traveling with our pup and thankfully they are dog friendly! The food is delicious and the outdoor patio (where we sat) had beautiful views.

We drove out to the coast for a weekend day trip to Mendocino. What a beautiful day. Sunny and 65 degrees. Friends told us Mendocino Cafe was a was stop. There was only outdoor seating. It was very comfortable. Nice menu options. We had mussels and clam chowder. More than satisfied. All in all, a wonderful experience!

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner at Mendocino Cafe recently on July 4th. We were greeted right away and assured that we would be seated shortly outside, which was our choice. We loved the outside tent/garden area, however, the inside looks inviting as well. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Vietnamese Salad with Grilled Prawns and the Thai Burrito and shared them both. The food was delicious!! We also enjoyed one of our favorite Craft Beers on Tap. We both highly recommend this restaurant.

I am addicted to their crab cakes, which you can get with a Caesar salad (there is also a crab cake sandwich, but I am a salad girl). Lots of other choices, from a variety of food traditions. There are many delicious desserts too. If you sit outside, your dog is welcome. They even have water bowls available for the dogs.

This is a very pleasant place to have dessert and drinks with your dog. The outdoor patio has several comfortable tables. Our dog was comfortable with his soft ground seating. My husband loved his cheesecake. I enjoyed my berry and peach cobbler, but was disappointed with the small dab of whip cream and no ice cream on top. I was told they just ran out and were making more. I explained to him that I often have dessert just to get the whipped cream on top. Yet, he never returned with the promised whipped cream. I would still return here as the seeing was so pleasant.

Didn’t like the bread pudding, no flavor. I was expecting cinnamon, or vanilla flavor, but nothing but milk and bread taste. Everything else was great! Wonderful wait staff! The food comes out pippin’ hot and fresh! It was very good. We had the Thai pot! So yummy!!

Nightly special was halibut. We shared the halibut and dim sum. Excellent choices and plenty for the 2 of us. View of the ocean from our table. Outside heater was very effective and not overpowering.
