Not all that. Similar to panera bread steak except a bit on the thick side. Two sandwiches, one with avocado added~ about 34 dollars. Don’t add the avocado, it’s not sliced avocado. It’s guacamole style and you barely get any. It was smeared onto the bread which weighed the bread down and made the sandwich more soggy. Didn’t help that the romaine lettuce was already wilting from it’s shelf life. The only thing Peruvian about the Peruvian sandwich was the aji amarillo. Don’t order it. If you want peruvian you need to order from a peruvian restaurant. The service was fast for two steak sandwiches. A +, great. However, it wasn’t busy, it was raining, and it’s pricey. We returned in under 8 minutes. The gentleman who took our orders handed us our bag with a smile. When we opened our orders..the chimichurri sandwich was not on the a ciabatta bread as the young man recommended and hyped it up to be. The worst part is the lack of bacon. At least it was toasted to help prevent the sogging. I wouldn’t come back unless someone else really wanted it and paid.

The quality of ingredients and the food preparation are sub par compared to the mid Wilshire branch (the bacon and turkey doesn’t seem as fresh as well). Leafy greens are often wilted and the sandwiches are frequently loosely assembled to the point where 8/10 I have to rebuild it. And in this case, they used it as a punching bag. Heirloom tomatoes have black spots as well, so better check them before you eat. The overall taste is still better than other competing shops but Mendo is squandering their potential by substandard management.
