It was pretty empty when we arrived. I tried the chicken Breast Skewer which was really dry and I actually did not even finish it. When I told them about it, the reply was you should of got the chicken thigh. The edamame was fine. My wife got the Ramen with Chicken Breast and was not impressed. she said the quality of the chicken was not good. I got the Udon with Beef. It had a nice flavor and I enjoyed it. the service was awful. They never came around and even asked how our food was and then we waited and waited to find our waiter to get the check. We were excited to bring our son, who loves Ramen, but I think we’ll pass. It seemed like they took a good restaurant and tried to open multiple locations and still have a lot of things to work out.

Never have had kagoshima style ramen, was interesting to read a bit more about the nuances.

The ramen here was very good! I got a spicy one and it was done perfectly. I couldn’t get enough of the broth. The sake options were great as well to have a drink with your meal. Service was pretty fast, and all of the staff was very friendly. The inside of the place is fine, not the most relaxing atmosphere to chill for a meal. It looks more like a cafeteria than a nice restaurant. But the food was good and that the most important!

This was an good experience. I hope the quality improves through time! The seaweed salad was pretty good, but the ramen and Kara-age chicken bowl left some to be desired. The ramen was a bit bland and the pork wasnt the most tasty, the egg was cooked to perfection. Recommend if you’re craving ramen in the area, it’s better than driving an hour to Brookline or Boston if you’re starving. A bit on the pricey side.

I wish there was a half button because I do 2 1/2 but here goes. The staff is friendly and doing the best they could during opening week. We didn’t wait very long to put in our order and the food came relatively in a timely manner That’s it I’m hoping it’s just opening week trial and tribulation because the food was not very good. The sauce for the chicken was the same sauce they had on the pork buns. Not much creativity going on with the dishes the pork in the pork buns was not crispy it was pretty soggy. The chicken was mostly dark meat which was OK but the pieces were huge so it made eating with chopsticks kind of difficult. The white rice underneath was bland no sauce to the dish. The cucumbers definitely did not sit in the sauce for any period of time. The Ramen shell flat as well. Not much flavor. I also don’t like these electronic cable side credit card machines. They bring it to you with the price and you can’t see the items you ordered to check until after you’ve paid. That’s very frustrating. And again I’ve mentioned before that it used to be 15, 18, 20% tips. Now they are 18, 20, 22% tips. It’s crazy that it’s going up because owners won’t pay their employees. I’ll give it six months and maybe try again to see if it’s improved

I visited this place twice. Ramen is okay, but nothing special. Yakitori is only available on the weekends but you can skip it. Nothing more disappointed to get soft chicken skin on a skewer.

It’s finally open and was worth the wait! Where I live, there was no good ramen nearby without having to drive at least 40-60 minutes to Brookline/Boston. Menya Jiro is as good as the popular ramen places downtown and maybe even better because of the wide variety of foods on their menu. I came in for a quick lunch on a Monday and was seated promptly. Ordered the ibusuki ramen with a seasoned egg. The chasu, noodles, and broth were all excellent. Portion size and price were reasonable. Service was friendly. The restaurant is also family friendly and they have highchairs so I’m excited to return with my toddler. I also appreciate that they do takeout when so many ramen places don’t allow it because they want the noodles to be eaten fresh, but I’m of the thought that if people are willing to pay for it even if it’s less good that way just let them have it and this place does that! Looking forward to being a regular customer here. Keep up the good work!
