Wow-5 stars all the way! From the incredible service to the wonderful food! We were looking for a slightly higher level of dining this evening and were not disappointed! The atmosphere inside was beautiful and not noisy at all. Our waiter (wish I could remember his name) was SO helpful and very attentive. Let me start out by saying my mother was an incredible Italian cook, so I consider myself a bit snobbish (in my head of course, never verbally!) with some foods, especially meatballs! I almost never eat them out, and was talked into trying them by our lovely waiter. I could not believe how incredible they were! Definitely worth all the calories! I actually wondered whose grandmother was tucked away in the kitchen! (apologies if it was a male chef! :-)) The Veal Mercato was tender and a surprise to my taste buds, complete with Italian Sausage to give it some added zip. Pretty sure the pasta dish was a bolgnese, which was excellent as well. I would definitely come back here next time we are in town!

My wife and I just thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful Italian meal at Mercato, in West Chester. First, they allowed us to order off of the dinner menu even though it was mid-afternoon. A big plus for those of us who prefer to eat our larger meal earlier in the day. We started off with cocktails, which were excellent, and the bartender, Patrick, stopped by the table to see if we were satisfied. Another indication of outstanding customer service. Our server, Hailee, did a magnificent job of ensuring that our dining experience was all that we could ask for and more, well passed and everything prepared to our specifications. If you are looking for Italian seafood dishes, this is the spot. I ordered the rack of lamb special and it was one of the best I’ve had in some time. We will certainly be coming back.

This used to be my favorite spot in West Chester but it has gone so far down hill. My penne vodka was $22, I asked to add chicken and was charged an extra $11 for it without being told that was the price. When I asked if it was a mistake because having a few pieces of chicken should not cost 50% of the meal even at the fanciest restaurant, the waiter was incredibly rude and hostile. I’ve never experienced such poor customer experience Not to mention The food was cold, the sauce was liquid and sour and the chicken they gave me was rubbery and a very small amount.

Service was great. Drink were also very good. We got the the short rib meal and a Caesar salad with shrimp. The short rib meal is not made with short rib. It is clearly chuck meat. I have eaten both enough times to tell the difference. Also for what is essentially as side salad and 5 shrimp it was $27. That’s nuts. If you eat inside, the ventilation is so poor, you will reek like the food.

This was our first time going. It was our 5 year anniversary an 1 year of engagement and couldn’t have asked for a better location. I highly recommend if you haven’t tried this place you do. Also our waitress was very knowledgeable an down to heart an not scared to actually have a conversation while still doing her job. Food was amazing & the drinks as well!

When I think of going to a place for pasta in West Chester I think of Mercato. This restaurant is one of the more pricier Italian restaurants in the area but I will always recommend people come here. Mercato is a pretty romantic restaurant but also great for families. There is a bar and plenty of outdoor seating.
