We drove 2 hours to do some school shopping. Found this Jamaican restaurant!!! My, my, my food was delicious!!! The spice on the jerk chicken had my son in a chokehold, meaning spicy but he enjoyed it. Lol Overall great food, friendly environment!! We will definitely be back!!

I would be willing to give this place another try, but my first impression was not that good. I liked the vegetable pattie, and I appreciated the friendly cashier who wore a mask, but the pattie was a bit hard and dry on the edges. I also got a carrot cake which was extremely hard and dense. It was really bad. Lastly, I got a pecan rum cake which was quite good but a bit dry. It was also unlabeled, so I had to ask the cashier which of the cakes on the shelves was the pecan rum cake. The prices are reasonable though.

I got the large oxtail dinner with rice mac n cheese and cabbage. Oxtails are fall off the bone tender and so full of flavor. Also friendly staff and excellent customer service. 10/10 delicious meal!

The food is good but the customer service is horrendous. Me and wife loved eating from here but there has been too many times where the employees said smart remarks or left me and wife feeling like we were disrespected. Recently, one of the employees called out what we ordered. My wife approached the counter and said the name of the order and one of the workers, replied “is your name jerk combination platter?” My wife paused and kept her composure and refuted from going off on that individual but this is the last time we’ll ever step foot in that place. We’ve traveled all over the world and instead of restaurants calling the number of the ticket or receipt number, there are restaurants that call your order specifically to what you may have ordered. Either way the remark was uncalled for by their staff and there should be some training that’s implemented on communicating with customers because this is not it. The food is good but the unprofessionalism and nasty attitude takes away the enjoyment of eating their food.

Probably 2.5 is more accurate. The folks working the register are quite more customer oriented than those fixing the food (pleasant). The last few times I noticed portions shrinking (and quality less reliable), the time to serve increasing, and don’t expect a smile or any interaction when receiving your food (blank look with hand motions smh). Hoping those in charge will get the employees back in shape.

Update: To respond to your reply, I was not laughing and joking with the unpleasant male cashier the entire time. I placed an order then noticed that his demeanor was unwelcoming. Then I asked him if he was alright and tried to cheer him up. After he rejected my attempt, I didn’t say anything else to him and got back in line.

My daughter lives in Columbus. She was coming to Vicksburg, MS to celebrate my 60th birthday on Easter Sunday, so one of my gifts was a large oxtail plate with double plantains (I visit Mercy’s for this meal every time I come to Columbus). She told one of the employees there what she was doing & they sent me a red velvet rum Bundtlet. That was so thoughtful. I enjoyed my gifts very much (as usual).
