Wonderful store with the most delightful lady who works the grill-she made the most delicious food with the perfect spice level. I usually have to drive to DC for good Ethiopian food, but not anymore-Merkato is now my go-to place! Delicious!

I went in to buy injera last week. There was in-store prepared brown injera with a note on the side “100% teff injera “. I asked the elderly woman(maybe owner) by the cash register to confirm if it’s 100% teff and she said YES without hesitation.

First time trying this spot as I usually go to Alexandria for abesha food but the tsom firfir I ordered tasted like real home cooked firfir. Will be coming here more and save gas on trip to Alexandria. Good job, keep it up.

I can’t emphasize enough how much I appreciate the quality of customer service provided as well as the quality of the food! The people are super friendly and the food demonstrates that love as well. Good! When first looking at the dish, you would think it wouldn’t fill you, but trust me when I say otherwise. Portions are good as the injera will take most of the room. Had one of the spicy dishes, but still isn’t spicy for my experience spice eaters. Definitely a place to try if you haven’t had Ethiopian food and the place stands out in the Ethiopian block.
