Good food. Just next to the beach. Were were here on a very hot day. We got outside seating and it was pleasant. We ordered crab-cake sandwich, Lobster roll and Greek salad with shrimp. All of it was very tasty and filling and was also presented well. The prices are very reasonable for the location. The server was very friendly. Overall a good place to eat. They have a separate menu for linch and dinner. Wish there were more items on lunch menu.

Hit the Mermaid twice this vacation. Their chicken kabobs were awesome, and the veggies and rice are something I actually look forward to every year when we visit Cape May. Wanted something simple the second time, went with a good ole grilled cheese with tomato. Goes awesome with a bowl of clam chowder

I’ll have to come back to try food. We had coffee and ice cream. It was alright. The coffee was so bad it was actually an experience I made my friend try…the layers of burnt, bold bitterness were akin to sampling wines; it was fascinatingly funny how bad it was. He had a Mediterranean sandwich and said it was good.

We’ve been going to Mermaids since they opened. Arguably our favorite Cape May breakfast joint. We recently wrapped up a family vacation with 17 people for breakfast. Mermaids was perfect, food got great compliments from all. Maggie the waitress was very accommodating. We will return and thank Mermaids for taking care of the large group on short notice!

We chose this restaurant for its location, varied menu items and low-key atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I chose the mixed grill kabob, which had good vegetables. However, the steak was described as “tenderloin,” but it was a much cheaper cut — chewy and fatty. Very disappointing. Same with my husband’s steak dinner. The kids meal — chicken strips and fries — was as expected.

Mermaids never disappoints! The food is always very good and the portions are generous. Our waitstaff Patty and Evan were cheerful and attentive. The deck area is newly remodeled with a retractable roof for open air and dining under the stars!

I love this place! The food is so good, the beachy vibes are awesome. You can sit in the back and enjoy the breezy, salty air. Truly a great place to eat with family and friends.

I do not recommend! The service needs improvement, they didn’t bring utensils and didn’t come to ask if the food was okay- which actually was bad , everything was soo salty that we couldn’t eat it , the mussels that on the menu was called “in white sos” was just oil with garlic .

Food was good and pretty nice views. Service was fairly slow though. Took a while to get seated, even with a reservation (no host for several minutes) and took a whole to place an order. And when you go to pay, it’s one of those annoying POS systems that doesn’t even suggest giving 15% tip.
