Ordered the black and blue burger with cheese and fries, and a sweet tea. Although the fries could have been cooked longer(kind of soft) they still tasted good and the fresh pickle spear served on the side was great. The burger was very good and I just love bleu cheese so if you do too you will love this burger! The maple bacon bread pudding was a huge surprise of yummy flavor too. Finally the sweet tea was brewed fresh and was quite refreshing. They offer military discount as well. Overall good experience and I would recommend this place.

First time here, and they definitely didn’t disappoint. Metro Diner is a cool retro spot playing 80s and 90s music with that classic diner feel. Foods ranging from classic breakfast, chicken & waffles, to omelet bowels and burgers. As you can see in my pictures, my family wasn’t disappointed. Oh, they also serve mimosas!

Met with another couple for lunch. It’s definitely summer outside but I cannot understand why it seemed this place seemed to have the AC barely running in one of the newer buildings on western. It was humid in the dining area and we weren’t sitting close to the kitchen area.

This is a “must revisit for more” experience. First time here to start my birthday celebration Sept 1. My sisterfriend gifted me brunch and she slayed this recommendation. The waitstaff AMAZING. They vibe in all areas which is unusual. They worked together. Management was concerned about the customers but really keeping their eyes on the employees. Not for criticism but to back up when the crowds started falling in. They put in the work. The cooks all had a station and the food all plated and presented the same as it was described on the menu. I was told to be prepared for my choice of Chicken and Waffles. I saw several orders plated and each one replicated the first. My excitement was giving a 5 star rating immediately. When I received my plate well let’s just say nothing was left to the imagination except just taste it. Anytime a dipping sauce precedes the chicken be on stand by, it’s then that the decision is totally up to you. Chicken with or without? Immediately I tasted the chicken and said why would I need the sauce? Added the waffle with the strawberry butter and forgot about the syrup. Heaven was shining down and then I realized I hadn’t dipped or poured. I have zero energy to describe the experience. The sauce and chicken was giving “what just happened to my taste buds the dance was hot, sweet and sensual” the waffle and syrup after the dances just made me the Prima Ballerina with a HipHop, Jazzy, Slow dance Star”. And it was more food than you would think for the price.. I shared a leg and took the rest home.. why?? Because some foods a Lady should eat in the comforts of her home. Unbothered, Unconcerned and Uninterrupted . YEZZZZZ Just like that and when I went back in AFTER I returned home…well all I can say is food critic may be my next career choice. So it was my first time coming here and I have got to say it was really good. I’d probably start coming here instead of first watch. What I got was the fish and chips and I changed out the out the cole slaw for broccoli. My husband got the breakfast burger and it was delicious. We also shared the chicken and waffles but switched out the regular waffle for the carrot cake pecan one. Everything was amazing and very flavorful. For drinks I got the raspberry tea and a Dr Pepper. For dessert we got the chocolate cake and it was very delicious and not too strong of chocolate. Will be coming here again. Btw, our waitress was Wendy and she was so nice and caring even after asking her for multiple things. Thank you.

A Chef Salad was one of the specials the day we went. It was very fresh and delicious. We sat close to the bar were you could see the entrees coming out of the kitchen. 75% were their famous chicken and waffles. I know what I’m getting next time we go. All the entrees had big portions. In fact my wife and I shared the Chef salad. The Diner is staffed very well and they all seem very happy. Definitely a great addition to the Jacksonville, NC community

Not many good things come to Jacksonville. But This one here is one to talk about. With breakfast being my favorite part of the day..I have no complaints here at this Metro dinner. I came with a group of 7. Food took a little minute to come out but it was worth the wait. I ordered the Bissel Breakfast. Almost Everything was very flavorful except the biscuits and gravy. They could have used a little more of something but it’s no reason to change a 5 star review. Customer service was great and food was even greater. Definitely recommend this restaurant! Hope they stay consistent.

I was so excited to see Metro Diner was coming to little Jacksonville, lol. It’s in a great location, too, being there are not many breakfast places on this side of town. I ordered Togo, and let’s say I wasn’t disappointed. The ordering process was smooth, and the pick-up time was not long. My food was delicious. I ordered the meat lovers omelet with whole grain toast and cheese grits. My omelet was fluffy, and the cheese grits were perfect cheesy and creamy. I also wanted to try chicken waffles but didn’t want a lot of extra food lol so I got a kids’ meal chicken and waffle and loved it. My chicken was seasoned and crunchy. It came with a syrup and hot sauce mix, which was a good spicy and sweet combination. The waffles were soft, not dense or doughy, and came with a strawberry butter that was amazing.

We a wanted to come and check out the new place. I wasn’t really hungry so I got something simple as avocado toast. They were really good. Service was good. They are still getting the hang of it but it was good. We will be back to try more of the menu.

We really enjoyed our meal and it was well worth the wait. All the staff were very friendly and kind. Our waiter Charles was very polite and told us about all the specials. He made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. We definitely will be back.
